Will have to watch the rerun tomorrow night, as I was elsewhere at the time...
Doesn't seem worth it though? ::)

But wasn't the Triumph Herald wonderful.

Who was the star in the car - have they run out of C list celebs

I used to like it but it's now got very predictable as they tend to repeat the same format.
Very successful but getting boring and I do get a bit tired of Mr Clarkson's rantings.

I prefer Fifth Gear. VBH, fabulous.

I thought it was alright. I mean if you put it in competitive peak viewing time then it would struggle. But its fine on a Sunday, a better option than Monarch of the Glen, Fartbeat and Last of the Summer Whine!! That’s for sure.

 ;D

My Frogeye was on Fifth Gear once and we got interviewed by a stressed out mr Nidell (sp?) at HA two years ago.
Blink and you would have missed us.
Would have preferred VBH though.
Is it my imagination or does she seem to do the voice over for every blokes ad on the telly these days?

Granted this weeks Top Gear was very poor on car articles and I too have no interest in some bloke who's been in a couple of shitty dramas that I've never heard of but James May had me pissing myself a couple of times.

Firstly when confronted with a low bridge with mast up he proclaimed "Oh, Cock!" and secondly when trying to sail his Herald he muttered "Come on you bitch!" Not in themselves very funny but it's just the way he says it that makes me laugh.

Oh and I thought the new Corsa looks great  ;D

It thought was quite a good laugh, if not very informative about proper motoring matters!

I cant stand 5th gear... actually no - I cant stand Tiff.  Tiff Needel makes me want to squirt mace into my own eyes n shove bread into my ears - why wont he stop twitching? ................ :-X

VBH is ok, except when she does that squeaking noise like nails on a blackboard.

I like Jason Plato quite a lot tho, so watch it just for his bits.... how about the Girl Aloud who frightened the pants off him and then crunched the Ferrari!!!  :D

Having said that, I do watch them both regularly - but not having any fancy channels there is not much option!  ::)

I agree with Fran. I watched it on sunday, but owing to spending four hours quality time in the pub on sunday pm and finding the spectacle of Jeremy's "boat" turning turtle hilarious, I decided it wasn't fair to offer an opinion.

However, I watched the repeat last night (entirely sober) and the utter childishness of it had me in stitches yet again. Agreed, not too much on proper cars, but I disagree that Philip Glennister is an unknown actor.

In their defence, I think the TG team have some problems with the council with the granting of planning consent for use of the studio. So that could be having a reducing effect on how many "from studio" items they can film.

If You are bored with Top gear try Vroom Vroom on Sky one.

Superb road tests !

I did enjoy the "boat race" on Sundays program, little to do with cars but amusing , especially when Clarkson nearly cam a cropper when the Toybota capsized.

It's just entertainment, bloody good entertainment at that.

Even with the silliiness, it's probably a lot cheaper to make than the hour of Heartbeat that's on t'other side.

Yes but its a car programme, not a boat programme and yes it can be good, and yes I do like the presenters, bought the dvd's etc, but sometimes they get up themselves a bit.

Time to spruce up the show I say.  Its been too much of the same for too long.

Jem

Mr Clarkson et al, if by any chance you read this send me a note and I'll gladly share my views !

It's a bit of light relief after a weekend with the kids.

Unlike many so called comedy shows it makes me laugh out loud.

My Dad hated it, cos it's was not serious enough, but does it have to be serious, if it was the ratings would be crap, and it would be axed. Can a TV program provide enough information in a half hour or hour slot to keep the anoraks happy?

Clarkson is a bit of a tosser, but at least he is a funny tosser, unlike many presenters of car programs.

Come on guys wheres your sence of fun and enjoyment?  It's not all about the cars and I thought people on here would know that one better than most!  :P

It's like Le Mans, having a laugh, nice cars and the occasional 'normal' car thrown in.

Would you prefer a show full of micras, focus' and vectras?  ;)

Again what a bloody waste by that Idiot Clarkson!!!

Concrete into a Mercedes!! To make it look more like his living room.!

lol Rick - chill!!

There was also the konig thingy and that orange thingy which were kinda pretty to look at...

And the comfy merc actually had me laughing out loud - in one of my Triumph Spitfires i sat on an upturned milk crate - i recognised that technique of hanging onto the steering wheel like mad .... he shoulda had one arm hooked outta the window tho... it adds some stability.

I am rather enjoying the World Cup Tales series thats on after TG - even tho not much of a footy fan really....   :)

Have to agree with Fran - tonights show had me laughing out loud too.  And, even more significantly, SWMBO was joining in too!  That is an achievement worthy of the license fee every time...

I'm with Rick on this one, trashing the Merc was just a waste of time and money.

To all those people who are clearly upset by this show...... Why do you watch it?

If you don't like it don't watch and please stop moaning about it.  ::)
