Title: Reselling tickets Post by: Nordic on May 11, 2006, 05:29:02 pm Is there any way that we can prevent tickets sold on this site for face value, being resold again on ebay for huge mark ups?
Its amazing just how many people seem to pop up with no other post to there name than trying to bag a couple of Masion Blanche or Houx passes. Title: Re: Reselling tickets Post by: Steve Pyro on May 11, 2006, 05:58:58 pm The same thing happens every year Nordic. As you say, people with a single figure post count suddenly appear, pleading for camping and grandstand tickets.
Unless those that sell them restrict their spares to 'known' CA'ers, this will continue. I've sold my spare HA and grandstand tickets early (Dec / Jan) to regulars. Title: Re: Reselling tickets Post by: DelBoy on May 11, 2006, 06:49:04 pm Either sell to regulars (as I have also done this year), or if a non-regular, tell them they can collect the ticket at LM, and you only give it to the guy you sold it to.

Del I agree to an extent, personally, I always hang out on Pistonheads, and this is the first time I have been on here. usually my Tickets are secured through the TVRCC, but this year I couldnt commit until last minute. I would have a big problem making all the arrangments to get to Le Mans, only to be messed about getting access to the camp site. I would want my camping sorted before I left Blighty! I dont mind covering people's postage plus maybe a beer as way of thanks, but refuse to pay markup on tickets Title: Re: Reselling tickets Post by: BigH on May 11, 2006, 08:19:48 pm Quote but refuse to pay markup on tickets Ahh, Gnnn and boll.. ooohhh..**** Not for the first time I've spent a while piecing together a cunning argument of faultless logic (well that's my story anyway) only to have it vapourise when I press the 'post' button. Anyway, to cut a long hairy shirt, or something (I might as well continue to talk tripe, this'll probably disappear as well..) I first have to say "Welcome Mr Vaughan", but then, sadly I have to follow it rather promptly with "B*llocks!". I'm not one for ranting, though I did a little on: http://www.clubarnage.com/forum/index.php?topic=1593.msg17167#msg17167 And I've got to say, it's a free world mate, surely you're not saying that rather than pay a few extra bob you'd prefer to stay at home in your favourite slippers and armchair and not be with your mates at LM? Are those radios you're selling at cost? H Title: Re: Reselling tickets Post by: Fran on May 11, 2006, 10:19:28 pm There are also people with virtually no posts selling tickets here at cost price - should we do something about them too?
::) Title: Re: Reselling tickets Post by: Kpy on May 11, 2006, 10:25:58 pm There are also people with virtually no posts selling tickets here at cost price - should we do something about them too? You beat me to the post, Fran.::) Let's remember that we all had to make our first post once. I've made a lot of friends through meeting on message boards like this one. ;) Title: Re: Reselling tickets Post by: Fran on May 11, 2006, 10:56:25 pm Let's remember that we all had to make our first post once. I just checked back to what appears to be my very first post in June 2003 ...I was buying a HA ticket from a bloke called Kevin! It seems like my second post was February 2005 - trying to buy a camping ticket from 24hourman (who had the same problem of having 3 MB and wanting 3 Tetre Rouge as he has this year!!) (I think some of my earlier posts may be missing cos i am sure i bought a ticket from Dark Warrior in 2002 and he wasnt my first!! - but I may have had a different name in the early years cos I was pretending not to be a girl :-[ !) So I would definately be counted as a non posting ticket buyer!!! But look what has happened since 2005 ..........I am a goddess! ;D Title: Re: Reselling tickets Post by: Steve Pyro on May 12, 2006, 10:10:04 am But look what has happened since 2005 ..........I am a goddess! ;D I can't argue against that Fran :-* (http://www.metmuseum.org/calendar/images/goddess_big.jpg) Title: Re: Reselling tickets Post by: Bob U on May 12, 2006, 11:53:36 am Just noticed that Fran. You ought to get Smokie to change it to Goddess, or should we all be called God like persons?

Title: Re: Reselling tickets Post by: Fran on May 12, 2006, 02:10:39 pm one fits all Not sure about the change Smokie :-\ It makes us all look a bit AC/DC!!! As the blokes outnumber women by 14:1 I really dont mind being a god - after all actresses are now called actors, and stewardesses are flight attendants!! ;D Title: Re: Reselling tickets Post by: Steve Pyro on May 12, 2006, 02:29:22 pm Just use this as an Avatar Fran ;)
