Title: G/A Tickets
Post by: Ruscool on March 22, 2006, 12:27:05 pm
Hey all,

Quick question, our group were going to get our General Admision tickets at LeMans on Thursday 15/06 or such like, reading someone elses thread made me wonder.

Are the G/A tickets more expencive on the gate or is it the same price as the prebooked tickets?

Thanks
Rus

Same price as an individual ticket prebooked. If you qualify for concession tickets, I'm not sure what the position is.

GA Tickets are available in plentiful supply on the gate and they cost the same on the gate as they do at the moment direct from the ACO, but you don't need to pay postage on the gate.

If you are an ACO member you can buy them at a discounted rate if you book them now, however I have a feeling this discount will apply on the gate as well. May'be an ACO member will be able to answer this.

We always just rock up and buy them on the gate. You should note though that if you are camping on one of the sites that is inside the circuit entrance then you need to have GA passes to get to your pitch.

I don't believe you can get the group discount rate on the gate  (20+ tickets are €53 instead of the normal €60)

I havn't tried the gate, but a few years ago, I did buy the GA tickets at the Rotunda and got the ACO members discount.

Someone told me that if you buy the 6 discounted members rate GA's in advance, you can then get away will walking up to the agte and getting six more as your membership card hasn't been stamped and they don't have a computer connection in the ticket booths to check if you've already had yoru allocation.

Not sure if it's true but it seems to make sense knowing how disorganised the ACO are!!!

It does work ;)the only problem is that they punch out the allocation on your membership card which does not have a hologram or any real security markings on so l suppose someone could copy a card and get into the ACO club house aswell, time for a play with the scanner me thinks :o

From what I know they need some form of confirmation, ie. a written fax stating your number and sig. Then again, the ACO invoice tells you they don't take creditcard details over the phone, but -for example- at McLaren they don't take details via email and do prefer the telecon. ???
As far as I know the people who sell take the risk of loosing money (stolen cards etc.), and they all carry the risk in their own way.

Your best shot is to print out an order form and fax the form through to the ACO, with a phone call to follow :)
