Title: New weapon for Le Mans? Post by: Paddy_NL on March 13, 2006, 10:31:51 pm Haven't got a clue how you guys 'prepare' for the major alcohol consumption, but I bumped into a website which might be of any help to those who cannot drink as much as they'd like, basically because of the fear of the painfull awakening the next morning>>
http://www.kg-2.net/index.php?promo=bar These things are not cheap, but it should do the job by the looks of it. I wonder how those pills would tackle our breathalizer in our "Drinking for Holland - drinking competition" 8) Title: Re: New weapon for Le Mans? Post by: rcutler on March 13, 2006, 10:45:32 pm Who needs that?? Just get training with the REAL thing. There are plenty of motorsport events before LM for training sessions. We should certainly be at three or four events (Maybe more)

2 years ago there were lots of these on ebay, I even bought some in the name of good science. Can't say that I they were particularly effective though, but not an easy thing to test! Title: Re: New weapon for Le Mans? Post by: Lawnmower Man on March 14, 2006, 01:20:20 pm What a waste of money. What is the point of getting a bit tipsy if you don't get to feel the benifit the following morning?

Title: Re: New weapon for Le Mans? Post by: BigH on March 14, 2006, 06:43:04 pm JPC,
If I can get hold of the right ingredients in time, I intend to throw the cocktail gauntlet down and mount a challenge on the Tropicomas crown. I think perhaps I'll prepare a 5 litre container, bring it over, and let the professionals decide! H Title: Re: New weapon for Le Mans? Post by: Robspot on March 14, 2006, 06:53:31 pm That reminds me, I was going to make a batch of my punch to take to LM. Does anybody happen to be going to the Caribbean before Le Mans this year? If you do can you pick me up a couple of bottles of 70% vol white rum. Cheers. ;D

Looking at £23 for a bottle of Wray & Nephew 63% stuff or £70 for Bacardi 151 (which is 75.5% alcohol). The Bacardi is recommended that you don't consume more than 2 x 5cl measures in one 24 hour period because of the high risk of death. Sounds exactly what is needed to take on Tropicoma - how much to put in though ??? Ah, sod it one bottle shouldn't hurt ::) Title: Re: New weapon for Le Mans? If one of the Sebring goers would be willing to pick some up while they're here in the states, a 750ml bottle of Bacardi 151 goes for about $22 USD. I guess the trick would be getting in touch with someone that hasn't left already. Title: Re: New weapon for Le Mans? Title: Re: New weapon for Le Mans? Post by: Robspot on March 15, 2006, 12:31:54 pm Holy Smoke ;D
Who has a number for one of the Sebringers? 22$ must be about thirteen quid. That's much more sensible. JPC How many can Steve fit into your cooler? Title: Re: New weapon for Le Mans? Post by: jpchenet on March 15, 2006, 12:49:16 pm I'll send a text to Steve B, Doris and Smokie. I guess the problem is that from the US they will only be allowed 1 litre of spirits and they may well be using that themselves. That said, assuming they are only looking to buy Scotch/Gin/Vodka etc, it's worth getting them to get the bacardi 151 and then also give them the difference they would have saved on their own alcahol and the cost differential is so big!
Title: Re: New weapon for Le Mans? Post by: Robspot on March 15, 2006, 01:03:53 pm Isn't that 1 litre duty free? If they were to buy it inside US at standard prices (a massive 22$) and pack it in suitcases then it would be okay, wouldn't it?
If that isn't the case then I would be more than willing to pay the difference on their purchases. |
