Title: Costco coolboxes and pools
Post by: Snoring Rhino on March 10, 2006, 04:01:54 pm
Dropped into Costco today, they are doing Igloo cool boxes:
110ltr trunk that would take your mother in law in non LM times and keep her ice for 7 days £58
60ltr on wheels for the dismembered mother in law on ice for 5 days - £35
Also a 25ltr 12v cool box for £32
Quite reasonably made as well.
The pool was about 20' dia and 2.5' deep, with filter pump £31 - probably only last one trip but at that price who cares!

They are very good prices for the UK Ian for the Igloo stuff. The Wheel along sounds like the one Steve is hopefully getting me from Sebring. €39 dollars out there, but I haven't seen them over here for less than £50 before!!

Just thought, Costco is a trade place isn't it. Were those prices plus VAT or including?

Mark, You can join CostCo if you work for yourself, civil service, or by corporate arrangment, costs about £25 a year, but do some good deals. Like me the nearest one to you is probably Reading (behind the Madstad). Also great deal on white appliences, lifetime garrentee so long as you remain a member - (only issue is that you have to arrange your own delivery either way) After the manufacturers warranty runs out you can return the applience with receipt and your membership and they will credit the receipt amount against a new machine or give you a refund can be 5years or 15 years doesnt matter.

Prices are inc of Vat, typical UK - US same price in Dollars as Pounds by the looks of it.

Costco is great, we've got a new one in Bristol that is never packed out.  They have great stuff in there but you have to buy things when they are there as their stock changes constantly.  Don't plan to go back next week for something as chances are it won't be there.

We saw the coolbox - I reckoned I could have taken it instead of a tent - I'm only little and I reckon I could have slept in it (was gonna try in the store but I'm fed up with being looked at like a loon  ;D)

They often have camping stuff in there, they had the coleman dual fuel dual burner the other day at a good price.

Their food is good as well, great quality meat and fish at good prices.  Some of their tekky stuff, flashcards, memory sticks etc. is good value as well as writeable DVD's, batteries etc. etc.

Your right Piglet, they buy in big bulk and get the best prices, and have low overhead stores, hence prices, but yes you have to buy quickly on the best deals (just off to get our pool Robbo!).
The Rump steaks are the best for flavor and tenderness - as well as indvidual steaks you can buy whole Rumps for about £35 and about 5kg, great for BBQ parties.
