Club Arnage

Just spoke to Sander (planetlemans.com), who is at Daytona Speedway (http://www.grandamerican.com) at the moment. Have to say the engine sounds in the background make me all the more eager for the European series to start as soon as possible!

But he saw a guy with a Club Arnage shirt, it was an American guy. He didn't ask the name, but according to that American guy there weren't too many English at this race.

So there you go, once again the CA Shirt is spotted again. Where next? ;)

I'm guessing it may have been Matt Harper (lives in Florida) or a Turn 10 member (Randy?)

Hmmm, Matt Harper..........American.......????????  I think you might owe him a few cold ones in Sebring Steve  ;)

IIRC, Randy is the only Turn 10 guy with one so far. I'm not sure if Fax might have one? He's normally at the the Rolex with Matt and Dave! Did Phil make the trip down from Canada? His accent might sound American to a Dutch guy!

My consideration was that, to a guy who's first language is dutch, anyone speaking english in the US may, on first appearance, be from the US.

Keep wriggling on that hook Steve, NOW you have  insulted a Dutchman by saying he cant tell the difference between English and American!!!  ::)

Didn't make the trip down this year guys, saving the cash for the LM trip.  Dave said Matt was thinking about going over Sunday morning so it wouldn't have been him on Saturday.

It  was not I in Daytona.But I do seem to remember something about a pigeon as a small child.

Do you know Les? Les is one of Pidge's buddies, they are probably about the same era. So Les comes strolling back from a walk to the paddock last year and says "Hey Pidge, look what I got from the t shirt guy down there"

Sure enough, he has a Club Arnage t shirt in his hand...he said the guy was selling them...

He must have picked it up from the cab of Pidge's van and taken it with him, then thought the t shirt guy sold it to him...


I made sure Pidge got it back! And I have one for Les this year too...

Okay, that should explain it then :-\

Bet it was Pidge, we've bumped into hima couple of times at Daytona over the years.  If you ever see him at a race and he offers you orange slices....beware!

If its a case of mistaken identy country wise, my mate Mark Warden who more often than not goes over to the Daytona 24 on short notice without telling anyone, also has a CA t shirt !

What happens to me most of the time is that English people think I am a yank and Yanks think I am from Canada when I speak English. Having lived in the US for some two years ruined my accent!  ;D

So maybe it was a Dutchman in a Club Arnage shirt after all!  ;D

Hmmmm - Although I have found that a lot of Dutch people do speak English with an american accent (even if they have never been there) - I cant help thinking one Dutchman would recognise another - dont they have a special handshake or something?!    ???

                      Just read your post on Club Arnage about C.A shirts at Daytona and had to smile about what you said about me, as you were spot on.
                       Yes, i was at Daytona.
                       Yes, i did not tell anybody
                        Yes,i did wear my C.A shirt ( your Shirt from Sebring 05 ) and i did talk to a tall yank with glasses, who asked me i was English and when i said i was, he then started to ask me if any more C.A boys had come over, when i said i did not know, he asked if a Mark had traveled over,at this point not being a true C.A boy, and not have a clue who this Mark was or any other C.A member for that matter ( apart from you ) i gave him the slip when we were buying tickets.So you can post this on the website and see if you can find out who the yank was, and offer my apology for not taking the time to speak to him.
