I was justhinking I will have to print and stick on my wall at work (might do anyway) Hercule (JPC) Poirott was a bit sharp though. Strange how you do not realise things such as the Dunlop bridge always in the shot until it is pointed out. Unless you are daft...Hands up those who did not realise. It is hard to type with one hand!!! Martini... Title: Re: Official Sebring Poster Post by: smokie on January 13, 2006, 12:54:50 am What no Dunlop Bridge, Don't ever remember it not being on the poster 1999. Picture was of cars covered outside their pit garages. No Dunlop bridge. Caption BMW vient, Toyota vient, Chrysler et Mercedes viennent, Nissan vient et Audi vient. Et vous, vous venez? 2000 Caption La legende s'ecrit sous vos yeux. Very dark picture of a car at night, brakes glowing. No Dunlop bridge. 2001 picture of number 8 Bentley being followed by number 1 Audi, with a red clock showing 4 o'clock superimposed. No Dunlop bridge. Bit of a pattern there then? :) Admittedly 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 all had the Dunlop bridge. I *knew* one day it would come in useful, that I have copped out decorating my office properly by putting up loads of LM posters... :) Title: Re: Official Sebring Poster Post by: Fax on January 13, 2006, 02:09:08 pm Most of the LM posters are okay if somewhat simple. Liked the sixties and seventies posters better. The Sebring posters are something of collectors items because of the artists who have done them. British icon Michael Turner did them (as well as Watkins Glen's) for many years. More recently Roger Warrick has been commisioned. I spoke with Roger at the Petit and he said doing the art for Sebring is tough because its the first race of the year and you've got no definitive idea of how the cars are going to look when they show up and it has to be completed before the Feb. testing gets underway. Said he wasn't happy with last years even thought it looked terrific to me.

I was going to paste one of them up in this thread to annoy Smokie ;) but I just noticed Grand Fromage was online. He was the person who took a ticking off about it from the ACO in 2003, so thanks for not turning me in Dave. :P Title: Re: Official Sebring Poster Post by: smokie on January 13, 2006, 04:00:35 pm I was going to paste one of them up in this thread to annoy Smokie Nearly did the same meself last night then remembered who I am... LOL Title: Re: Official Sebring Poster Post by: Nordic on January 13, 2006, 06:22:43 pm I quite like the Le mans one, I know its not the proper one yet, but I like the style and would be very happy if something along those lines was used.
Dexter Brown did the best Le mans ones I think, love his style, in fact I have two of his prints hung in my house, the Daytona 24hr 330P4 three abreast one and G Hill in the 250gto at goodwood, I would love to get some more, even the wife likes his ones. Alan Fearnley does some good stuff, got 'Sunset at le Mans', signed by Bell and ickx hung in the bedroom! love that picture, its the last thing I see every night before I drift off into the land of nod. Is that a little bit odd ;D Title: Re: Official Sebring Poster Post by: Fax on January 13, 2006, 07:43:45 pm Agreed, I like Fearnley's stuff too. I purchased a copy of Putting The Cat Out when it was first released and was floored when I recently saw what it fetches on the secondary market now.
