Have you ever been there. I live in Maastricht, so if it is worth it, I will check it out en can provide pics for people who are interested.

The Interclassics is nothing heart stopping but an afternoon spent nicely. Here's their web site: http://www.ic-tm.com/index.php Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: jpchenet on January 11, 2006, 04:28:13 pm .....to check out the bar trailer. (http://www.ic-tm.com/pics/poster_ictm_klein.jpg) All you Dutch guys should be at home this weekend watching the World Darts from Frimley. I'm not a huge Barney fan, but was disappointed for Co Stompe going out in the first round. Again! Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: Martini...LB on January 11, 2006, 09:56:45 pm Hmm, yeah. My own fault :-\ Paddy, you are something else, that is a bit special. Martini... (http://www.ic-tm.com/pics/poster_ictm_klein.jpg) All you Dutch guys should be at home this weekend watching the World Darts from Frimley. I'm not a huge Barney fan, but was disappointed for Co Stompe going out in the first round. Again! I am not a big Barney fan myself, but was absolutely impressed with that new young Dutch guy, Jelle Klaassen. Good old Merv was nowhere to be found! Also enjoyed Wolffie tonight and another good performance buy one of my favourite players: Tony 'Silverback'O Shea. And as to the everlasting Stompe story, he cannot cope on big stages, nervous for no reason. Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: Andy Zarse on January 12, 2006, 11:45:32 am Knetter, nice to know there's other fans out there. I hate Mervyn King, he's a cheating sod.
Remember a couple of years ago he was losing to some kid and he asked for the oche to be measured to put the kid off. It worked and King won the match but made no friends in the process. Bobby George went mad and in a five minute tirade on the telly told Merv he was "diabolical, aht of order son" etc. So when Jelle beat him I was cheering all the way. That lad is sheer Klaass... Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: knetter on January 12, 2006, 02:42:21 pm Yeah, remember that one, it also was against a Dutch bloke if I am not mistaken. He was on the same team as Barney back then, but because of his behavior they kicked him of that pro-team. But I think he learned his lesson and is now actually behaving quitte decent!
To bad some of the big names are nolonger in the tournament, always enjoy watching Andy Fordham and Ted Hankey ( although he is very strange). Never understood the deal with the BDC though, is that the superior or inferior competition in England? Maybe you know, we don't get to see much of that league overhere, except for the purfleet tournament. Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: jpchenet on January 12, 2006, 02:55:45 pm Colin Monk (local guy to me) has done well at Lakeside for the last few years. He went to Purfleet this year and was knocked out in the first round. My understanding (but I could well be wrong) is that the PDC broke away from the BDO because of some arguement about monies. Certainly from the standard of darts I've seen (which is by no means all of it) the PDC tournament at the Circus Tavern has been a higher standard.
It would be interesting to try to get the winner from Lakeside to take on "The Power" as an undisputed World Champion Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: Andy Zarse on January 13, 2006, 03:44:29 pm It would be interesting to try to get the winner from Lakeside to take on "The Power" as an undisputed World Champion They did last year, Taylor v Fordham. Wasn't really fair as Fordham had a broken wrist and I don't think he won a leg let alone a set. BTW who saw Jelle beat Paul "Crocodile Dundee" Hogan last night. Good fightback by the Croc, but glad Jelle won through. And what about Wolfie Adams, 3-0 down and came back to win 4-3. I love the drama, the atmosphere and the wonderful sportsmanship. Great stuff! I caught the end of the Jelle / Hogan match last night. How glad am I that I have no plans this weekend so can spend my time in front of the telly with a few beers watching the semis and then the final. ;D Strange really - I don't follow darts at all but if it's on tv I've got to watch it. Truly compelling viewing. Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: Andy Zarse on January 13, 2006, 04:12:08 pm Here you go Doris, this'll fill in the time whilst there's no "arrah's" on the telly

P.S. when will they do something about those shiny nylon shirts tho! Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: Doris on January 15, 2006, 09:51:06 pm Good darts indeed - or maybe not. Maybe more a true example of how pressure can get to people. Still, it made for gripping stuff and good viewing.
Fran - you're welcometo Jelle. He does nothing for me. ;) Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: hgb on January 16, 2006, 10:03:23 am It was a good show. For me the outstanding car was an Alfa from 1928 with a Swiss motorway sticker of 2005 in the screen and dead flies on the head lamps, fantastic. Here are some impressions:

That lad is sheer Klaass... I called it! I called it! What a fantastic final, edge of the seat stuff, all the atmosphere, skill, drama and just the best sport I've seen since the Ashes. Hats off too to the BBC for some fantastic camera work and wonderful coverage. I do hope some of the non-belivers managed to get over their silly prejudices and tuned in for a lesson on everything that makes sport so wonderful. Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: knetter on January 16, 2006, 03:03:35 pm I was convinced Barney was going to win his fifth, but hoped it would be otherwise. Turned out great!! Barney had plenty opp's to end the legs and sets in his favour, but never threw his doubles without trouble. Jelle was outstanding in his finishing, great stuff.
Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: jpchenet on January 16, 2006, 03:59:04 pm Maybe it's time that a real World Champion of Darts was found? Forget Lakeside, I think it should be held in a field in France in June ;D
Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: Nobby Diesel on January 16, 2006, 04:20:12 pm JPC,
I think you are selling the possibility a little short ! I can foresee a Le Mans Pub Triathalon. Darts, skittles and cribbage. I think the Heptathalon that includes dominoes and shove ha'penny would be too much for most ! PS I have a competition darts bord in my living room. If you can take care of a sturdy stand for it, I will provide the bord. My girlfriend will gladly see it's departure!! Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: smokie on January 16, 2006, 06:40:20 pm Ahh Cribbage!!
I play in a crib league every Monday. I know the rules to that. And I stay to the end... :-\ Title: Re: Interclassics & Topmobiel fair Post by: jpchenet on January 16, 2006, 07:17:40 pm I can foresee a Le Mans Pub Triathalon.
