Is it any of use to say we've got the footie on at Fridaynight, with BBQ and live music for desert? Holland are playing Ivorycoast that night.
We'll be inviting the Racing for Holland and Spyker mechanics too! 8)

Maybe we can be pursuaded with some alchoholic beverages to show the match. After all, Trinidad and Tobago do have a dutch coach!!! Paddy, what do you think??

Ohh, yeah it is coach Beenhakker, translated it means, legs lumberjack!!!!! Be ware!! ;D

i've applied for tickets for this game and have to admit it could present some logicistical issues if, by some minor miracle, FIFAs crap ticket allocation system gives me tickets for at least one game of the three games i applied for

Knetter,
I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the US squad, a lot of their players are on European clubs, and last time I checked they were ahead of England in the FIFA rankings.

we;re second favourites.....but being a die hard Reading fan I will be watching the USA team with interest - mainly to make sure Marcus Hahnemann Doesnt get injured.....we really need him next Year!!

Reading FC - 20 points clear of third place and marching on to the Premiership.....there is life when there's no motorsport! Come on URZ!

The Reading local paper is kicking up because there is a cut-off for World Cup players have to have a break before the World Cup. It doesn't affect the Premiership but does affect the Championship.

For gods sake, they are professional sportsmen paid an absolute fortune doing something that many of us would do for a fraction of the fee they get paid (and don't even start me on about the fact that they shouldn't get paid for playing for their country, they should do it for pride!!)

Pre World Cup Break...........ARSE!!

I know, Damarcus Beasley is one of the US top players, he plays here in Holland for PSV, but overall I think Italy is the better team in a tournament setting. I mean looking at the rankings, the Dutch are third overall and we were second before we lost to Italy. Rankings don't tell the whole story, that's all I am saying.

This is why i'm glad we're so far ahead....

Actually it doesnt really affect anyone that isn't in the playoffs, and a lot of clubs will apply for special dispensation for thier players if they are in this competition.

They do get paid alot, however I'd be p'ed if beckham etc were made to play two weeks before the tournament, as much as I'd be p'ed if Marcus Hahnemann, Ivar ingimarsson, Kevin Doyle etc etc were not allowed to play for my club because of the World cup.....

Don't want to keep harpic on about him, but I reckon he's brillo, when they played Arsenal, did you see how he went round Robin Van Persil.

That's enough proprietory cleaning product puns to Tide you over for one day if you catch my dreft.

He could play with Vim, but I doubt if he'd play with Cif, unless he was a naughty ex-jedi...

OK sorry, I left me coat somewhere round here. Anyone seen it?

I was up in the stands at the time. Great Aerial view from there!!

He was so Bold as he scored, he shouldn't have tried to score himself, he should have passed to Len_or Daz.  He took great Comfort that they didn't Shout at him.

;D That's right, that rape-ist is playing in the UK, almost forgot about him! Thank god he is not selected for the Dutch National team. Rather have Bergkamp then him!

Actually, Van Persie will be selected; he has been the last couple of games and he's doing OK in England, isn't he?
On topic: I'm pretty sure you can see any game you want with so many fans there.

Looks like Michael Owen's going to be sporting some hardware this year.  That can't be good, though I suspect he should be close to fully recovered by summer.  Still, worrying news about one the best strikers in the world.

replace Owen with Dave Kitson.......bingo..... :-D

Its good and bad - they reckon 3 months out - which should leave him at peak strength during the world cup having had a rest now, and a couple of months to get match fit again....

No big campaigns this year from the sun to make his foot heal like they did for Beckham though this time round (havent seen them if there is) which makes me think no one is particuarly worried about him missing the world cup (ie he is unlikely to)
