Title: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Ferrari Spider on December 06, 2005, 12:19:47 pm Chrimbo and the New Year are nearly upon us, when we meet we are always talking about "do you remeber" or "did you see".
So with this in mind what was your ONE favourite memory of 2005? It's not easy!! All the best Peter Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Stu on December 06, 2005, 03:15:22 pm Could'nt tell you on this forum, but no one had the nonce to get out the camera as all our jaws were on the floor. What a night, what a show.
Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Martini...LB on December 06, 2005, 09:05:08 pm My best memory from 2005 (obviously you mean from LM) is going there the rest fades into oblivion.
Martin... a little more vodka please nurse. Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Piglet on December 06, 2005, 09:08:46 pm Friday night, standing outside the Maitre Kanter (sp??) in Le Mans drinking beer and watching the world go by and the Brits coming out of the car park with the necessary wheel spinning. It was all good natured and lots of fun.

Martin... a little more vodka please nurse. Not necessarilly Martini. Could be from any endurance race through the year, ie sebring. Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Brad Zarse on December 06, 2005, 11:37:24 pm standing in the dfH pool, thinking "sh!t this beer is stronger than at home", boiling hot sunshine, cars whizzing around, and my dad flying towards me to push me over in the pool, watching his face as i moved and he disappeared head first into a pool which was very dirty at this point..... :d
Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: smokie on December 07, 2005, 12:04:01 am If I can only pick one...
The arrival of the Gimp onto Maison Blanche. Undescribably funny...as all those that witnessed it would agree. Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Paddy_NL on December 07, 2005, 12:40:15 am absolutely smokie! ::)
I can clearly remember the Flying Baquettes, the best surprise to our party! 8) Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Perdu on December 07, 2005, 12:49:37 am Mine at Le Mans, meeting Fran and Smokie.
Then seeing Fran not turn a hair at the sight of the Gimp at the 'poo bar. Mind you, having to chat with Paddy and me at the same time was probably a good reason for not "hair-turning"! Paddy's beerglass mountain at the time was impressive. though, must have been that! Specially whilst mopedboy was in the background too... Oh b#ggerit! Just about all of LM this year fits the best moment category, including dragging my arthriticky legs to the champagne celebrations under the famous LM clock just after 4 o'clock on Sunday afternoon with the trackside basking in 100+° temperatures. 2005 was magic for me for a whole week almost... :) Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: jpchenet on December 07, 2005, 08:51:00 am Singing on stage with the Flying Baguettes or the arrival of Gimp Zarse would normally be winners, but this year, seeing someone sit on the edge of the "easy-up" pool, collapsing it and allowing half the water to flood out, together with Bungle, one of the occupants, who was washed 20 feet away was just too funny.
Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: neilsie on December 07, 2005, 09:08:51 am Sunday nights concert by Arthur Brown at Le Mans was a fond inebriated memory
Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Lorry on December 07, 2005, 11:28:20 am , but this year, seeing someone sit on the edge of the "easy-up" pool, collapsing it and allowing half the water to flood out, This is really funny to watch. We had a similar occurance in 2004, when someone sitting inside just leaned too hard against the wall. He was too inebriated to do much about it, and once it starts it doesn't stop! Another reason for prefering caravans to tents - they'll stand a good floodingTitle: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Doris on December 07, 2005, 11:40:33 am As much as I had the best Le Mans ever this year the one memory that stands out for me this year has to be the night-time excursion in Northamptonshire mid August. Those of you who were there will know what I'm talking about. ;)
Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Andy Zarse on December 07, 2005, 12:20:17 pm All the above are fantastic memories, Gimps, Baguettes, pool antics and all. So good you honestly have to pinch yourself to make sure they really happened.
To be slightly serious, being waved down into the pits after the race at Sebring and hugged by Dave Richards and the Aston team was a top lifetime moment, let alone memory of the year. Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Bob U on December 07, 2005, 12:43:12 pm Being woken at 4:30 am on Monday by someone banging my tent and yelling "Bob, wheres your car keys? I need my bag I've sh*t myself"
Not the nicest of alarm calls but one of the funniest Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Fax on December 07, 2005, 02:03:01 pm I'm with Andy on this one, Sebring was really special, watching the finish from the pit balcony above the Aston crew. The Petit was a blast as always and this years Brickyard 400 was very memorable. However the biggest party of the year for me, and my fellow residents of our beloved city is about to happen as the Bengals are close to clinching the AFC North and heading for the playoffs for the first time in a decade and a half.

I just wish the camera was to hand 8)

1. meeting allthe CA members at Sebring 2.MyCarr and MyDonnas wedding at Turn10 3.The overwhelming response of Team Impala at the Sebring 05 autograph session. Sorry not much to compare with "The Gimp" ps.please advise Chris Zarse never to dress as "The Gimp" at Sebring. Just dont think those boys would understand. LOL ::) Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Brad Zarse on December 08, 2005, 01:11:59 am To be slightly serious, being waved down into the pits after the race at Sebring and hugged by Dave Richards and the Aston team was a top lifetime moment, let alone memory of the year. (ok.. so i trimmed your post a bit..oohh errr.) I think the Friday night campsite tour was a good night, meeting lots of CA'ers, discovering you could freewheel yer bike all the way from the main entrance to MB, and having my lungs blown (or was it sucked) inside out by the Bretheren fireworks! :o Title: Re: Your ONE best memory from 2005 Post by: Robbo SPS on December 12, 2005, 01:46:57 am LE Mans - My brothers car and the lost keys !!
