Title: Cause for celebration?
Post by: Barry on November 25, 2005, 11:31:50 am
Rumour on the wires this morning, that the poison dwarf Eccelstone has sold his stake in F1.
A guarded hurrah from me.

Does that mean he thinks he's got enough money now?

Looks like he'll still be pulling the strings though...

Barry,  he may be selling his "stake"  but removing himself from control and influence is another thing.

Yes that's a shame, I only heard the early rumours, without the details. Hoped he was going to have a relaxed time at his retirement home 'DunruiningF1'

It wouldn't surprise me if somewhere either directly or indirectly a poison dwarf controls CVC, allegedly.  What do you say 8)

I don't think Bernie has anything to do with CVC (although he could be one of its backers - he has to do something with all of those millions.  But he is part of the buying consortium.

CVC are moneymen.  This is like any other investment, and they want to see a good return, and perhaps sell it at a profit in a few years.  Strange.

CVC own the AA and the bike GPs, and sold Kwik Fit earlier this year

God help F1 if certain people get their hooks into it. but then again certain people already have...

Still I'd rather be at La Sarthe in June than an F1 thing anywhere...
