Bloody hell Andy that really is getting organised if you are thinking about opening hours already.

I check opening times early so I know we will not arrive at Site with no beer and no shops open!!

Gilles - Help!!!  Surely the best man to answer this one.

I'm not altogether sure why Andy really cares though.  I mean after a few tropicomas on Thursday night who really cares about anything?   ;D ;D ;D

Look at the website.  Thats what they're for - when they work, and this one isn't.

I suspect 9 or earlier, but the MacDonalds didn't used to open till 11

IIRC they opened at 08:30 on the Friday of pre-qual in 2003 (or was it the Thursday?).

I only remember that because I'd driven down after work and arrived in LM about 1:00 am then after doing the Mulsanne in the dark with no traffic a few times I "tried" to sleep in the car. It was bloody cold and I was waiting out side Carrefour when it opened so I could get something to eat...

That doesn't answer the question, it wasn't even that interesting, but seeing as I've gone to the effort of typing it I'll leave it in...  :)

Why not try carrefour.fr/lemans or something ???

Anyway, you should make sure you got plenty of cold beer in the coolbox for arrival at LM. If hungry you could opt for the McD, even though I refused that nowardays for principle reasons. During 'normal' daytimes it should be open anyway, 7 days a week if I'm right :)

Sounds like you actually spoke to him then Lorry...

The voice of experience?

I think it was his fault we had to stand for fifteen minutes at the till while a security guard took away our Big Euros Note for verification... Brand new from Nat West bank in Birmingham city centre, but standing around like that made us feel like bigtime criminals or something. Bugger!

OK sorry rant over!

Shoot, I only wish I could get there the same way each time. Freaking roads up and diversions this year continued to screw my map up. UNLESS, I went the wrong freakin way everytime! Does anyone have a straight forward way from HA?

I really do not understand it, I have driven all over France for more than 20 years and never got lost...put me anywhere near LM  and it all goes out of the window.

Martini...anywhere anytime could mean somewhere sometime!!!

nothing better than being prepared my dad used to say to me  :)

we are hoping to arrive about 8.00am on the friday morning and i will need to buy some ice to keep beer and champers  chilled till we can get in to accommodation to plug in travel fridge. i just did not want to be sitting outside the front door for hours when i could be somewhere else catching up on my drinking skills  ;D

There's a lesson for everyone.  Never take large denomination notes.    My other half took a Fifty Quid note for cash back and couldn't find any place to change it afterwards.  I learnt thehard way in the states a few years back  you can't use $50 bills no body keeps that sort of change in the till.
