Title: Renting a Caravan/Motorhome with Setup
Post by: Kate Shaw on June 27, 2005, 04:05:15 pm
I know some of the membership did this for the recent Pleasantness.  How and where and all that good stuff, do you arrange for this?  How far in advance do you do it?

Any details would be helpful.  I want to consider all angles for next year.

Go on give us a clue - where do you want to rent it from?

There is a place near Portsmouth that charges about £400 per week plus deposits etc, but I'll have to ask about the name

Hi Kate

Mr Toad rented a giant RV at great expense - shipped from England. Contact him through www.beermountain.com

When I enquired of prices I was quoted between £3500-£4500. They deliver to Le mans though :o

can't remember there name but if you are interested i will try and dig out the info we got from them.

Kate,

I would suggest pm'g Gilles and find out what he can do from the LM end.  There have been other requests about this before.  It will be cheaper in the long run and will save a lot of driving on your part.  Also you can fly straight into France and save all the buggeration there.

At least 2 caravans sellers locally provide caravans direct onsite. they already work for teams and sponsors, maybe they can can provide one direct on ACO campsites.

Other opportunity couyld be to buy one cheapest here in France, find a cheap barn to store it 51 weeks per year with all camping gear and fridges, and gazebos,....
