That may be do-able.  What's the situation regarding parking / camping etc?

I'll be there for a whole week (170 kms from home).  Will stay at camping Eau Rouge in Stavelot.

As far as I know there are two official camp sites. One is at Les Combes and the other near the main entry in the woods. However there are no such creature comforts as power and showers. Toilets can be found at Le Combes and in the paddock. I use to put my tent up in the field next to the car. I think the official camping pitches are 15 € whereas just  parking is 10 €. Ahh, and don't panic, there's no booking needed. There's enough for all. Tickets are available at the gate. Enceinte Generale is 25 €, including paddock 45 €. Grand stands are seperate and I think 5 € to 10 € depending on stand.

OK Chris - not exactly sure what it is I'm looking for. I'll end-up with a ton of Dale Jarrett stuff in the hospitality pack that they give us and we get garage and pitlane access before and after the race. Where do I get drivers cards from and are there any particular ones that you need?

Will Spa be foggy and wet, as it usually is?  :-\

First rule for Spa: Never loose your jacket  ;D

Eh, it's end of July. Last year I put up the tent and didn't realy need it. It was fabulous.

April is a different story, though. There was snow a week before the 1.000 KMs.

I doubt that I can make it this year but I'll be booking for next year.

I'm going to Croft next month so 3 in a year would be too much to ask!

Its only a short hop from Newcastle to Brussels  then a hire car to Spa.

I can even make it home on the Sunday evening!

Anyone have experience of the traffic from the circuit on the Sunday after the finnish.  Also from the entrance how far would it be on foot to the nearest village or Bar?

Stu

I imagine there's not that much traffic to Calais (?) on sunday afternoon. The circuit is close to a motorway and traffic usually clears quite quickly.
You will have to haul yourself for about 25 meters from the main entrance to the nearest bar.  ;D

The possibility of me getting to Spa is increasing.

What are people's plans

- arrival day
- camping/hotel arrangements

Paddy can you PM me the details for the place you stayed in earlier this year please?

I'll be there from saturday morning on. Depending on the weather I'll be camping or sleeping in the car.

What about some sort of CA meeting on saturday night. As far as I know Spa doesn't offer a shampoo bar but I'm sure a beer bar will do as well and there are plenty around the circuit. My favorite is the one on the outside of the circuit at Raidillon just behind the big wooden building on top of Eau Rouge. Actually it's just a couple of meters from where the Dallara did this (<-) last year.

Know that bar!! Why not, what time, I will be there Saterday morning till Sunday after the race!

It is also known to Paddy, he slept there for most of the 1000km of Spa after getting sick from some nasty snack he had the day before :-[ Or was it the beer afterall ;D

Don't forget the huge DfH banner, Roy. We'll put it up at Eau Rouge on saturday night then.  ;D

That will probably not happen!! It is in Rotterdam and since paddy won΄t show up it will probably stay there, unless somebody can take it with from thereabouts.

If Roy promises he will look after it, then I can probably arrange transport from Zoetermeer (a guy called Pieter is coming too).
Flag still aint cleaned btw, all Maison Blanche staines are still on it - but the typical Belgian rain will probably clean it all off again...

See the red spot ? The bar is there.

You start your way from the start/finish line at the outside of the circuit and walk clockwise around the circuit. You' won't miss it.

The latest weather reports suggest rain and thunderstorms with maximum temperatures of 23 degrees and minimum temperatures of 12 degrees. So, do pack the appropriate gear.

That is unfortunate, have fun on Sunday anyways!! I won't see you around then, only there on Saterday for the WTCC and the first 12 hours of the race, then return home for some sleep. Work next day for me, which sucks, but hey that's life!

What a weekend again... I'm feeling quite whacked.

It was nice to meet some from here at the beer bar at Raidillon although there weren't many. On the other hand I'm glad there weren't that many because otherwise I would most probably be totally whacked.  ;D

There are some pictures here: http://www.clubarnage.com/forum/index.php?topic=4080.0

Smokie, sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you.

It was a very good saterday, good racing action on track, relatively good weather considering we were at Spa. Not to much rain. Did not find the time nor the place to raise our flag. Our objective was blocked by a big grandstand. Robbo SPS, sorry mate but the MG sign has dissapeard from the top of eau rouge.

Good to meet up with Hgb and I think Ron Jeremy, no other members of CA around. Guess everybody is going to silverstone and skipped the 24 hours of Spa this year.  Anyway, good win for maserati, although the astons were still challenging for the lead at around one am. But a accident atop of eaurouge prevented them from staying in front of the pack.

All in all, a saterday well spend.

I drove past Spa at about 2 pm on Sunday. I only knew it was Spa cos it was the heaviest rain I have driven in for some time - couldn't see the road, let alone the signs.

Glad you enjoyed it though...

mmmmmmmmmmmm maybe but they are perhaps the most accessible pit garage as others will testify, vitaphone wouldn't let you near, and at the time we were in the pits, it was the only action taking place.
