Title: Forum Home Page

Forgive me, because I may have dreamt this, but I'm certain I logged-on the other day and the image on the homepage was updated to 2005 and featured the catfish-like gape of a DBR9. Now we're back to the explosion in a flourescent paint factory. I'm not at all sure why I've been forced to stare at that green and black monstrousity for the past 16 months. It should be binned - and a decent, competitive and evocotive car, that at least has a snowball's chance in hell of winning something (a Corvette maybe) should replace it.
Bring it on - I'm wearing my fire-proof tighty whiteys.

Matt are you getting that zotekzaatezidtek* thingy again? I am still getting the "catfish gape" Are you using a cache generated page maybe?

Try cache clearing to get rid.

* I could never get me head round its name last year, I expect a thorough castigating for un patrioticness.
I would have preferred the Bentley again but...

 :(

What's that now? Cache clearing? what, in the name of Boneparts balls, is that??

Hang on a sec.... just clicked 'refresh' and there it is - the green catfish with dayglo lipstick! Thank you Steve.

hgb - you do have a point - though I suspect you could well be eating your words in a couple of weeks time. Truth is, if I was wealthy enough to waft around in Newport Pagnell's finest, I'd be rootin' for Prodrive - if I was dumb as a rock and had a TVR I'd be behind the Blackpool Bomber. As it is, Bowling Green, Kentucky is where my heart (and the contents of my wallet) lies, so my alliance to Pratt & Miller must prevail.
I'm depressed to be missing my annual fix at Le Mans this year - as I've said before, I think it would be good for the sport and great for 99% of you guys this year, if Astom Martin pull the job off - it's going to be a lot tougher than Sebring though.....

Matt, the catfish posted some pretty good lap times over the test weekend - 3 mins 50 sec ish - good for a GT1 car.

I recall you mentioned prior to Sebring that the Florida circuit would shake the Astons to bits..........
As long as they have the longevity (they, apparently, ran for another 12 hours at Sebring following the race) there should be happy smiling faces all round.

I also have a soft spot for the Corvette (not in my y fronts though).  Having now gone out and bought a LS1 engined GM rocket ship I feel a similar affinity to the General, although the Tin Indian still really pulls my chain.

Yeah, but thumping round an empty track for half a day means what?
GM have won two competitive ALMS races since then.
I noticed Aston Martin's strong pre-qual performance, but did you read Prodrive's comments about the Yellow Threat?
It isn't going to be a walk-over for either team, I guess it'll boil down to who wants it most.
I think it is scandalous that Prodrive are so under-funded - what's the matter with Ford?

I understand that Ford are also currently seriously underfunded - as is GM.  Is their stock at junk bond level yet?

I'll be there trying to think of nice things to say about you Matt ..... Suggestions on a post card please ;D
Sorry you can't make it. Looks as though I will be defending the Corvette on my own. ... Thank you for pointing out the TWO ALMS wins since Sebring and I would point out The Corvette team had TWO cars on the podium where was the other Aston???? well back in the pack. If both team's cars hold together it will be one hell of a race.
Canada Phil

On the news last night they stated that General Motors have lost $1 billion in the last 12 weeks! Still - at least they provide a proper budget for the Corvette racing effort, which is more than can be said for Ford and Aston Martin.

Thank you for the good wishes Phil - have a great European tour - I wish I was joining you. Please defend my honour(?) in my absence - and hopfully see you at Road Atlanta in the Fall.

I'll second that, defiantly been on the other side too long that Matt bloke, not long enough to forget the old Yorkshire - Lancashire jibes though.
When GM start making cuts maybe they should take a trip to Blackpool for some tips on value engineering.

Value engineering, you say, IRW? Another word for blacksmithery, I think.
I know you're a TVR man and I respect your totally bizarre choice of dream car.
I've got nowt against Lancashire - apart from the fact that they're all a set of bastards, of course.....

LoL ::)
Nowt wrong with good solid enineering...... but back to TVR's, this Solmenski's changes are getting rave reviews, the Sagaris is said to be brill on quality. There's even a chance your not buying a car that has the unique concept that it reverts back into kit form as you drive it!
Their still awsome though - one day. :P
