Title: Garage Defender Post by: Chris (Liverpool Boys) on May 19, 2005, 11:00:13 am With all the people on here with different contacts etc..... I am wondering if someone maybe able to help.
I am after one of those garage defender locks for up and over garage doors. Have tried ebay local b&q etc but trying to get on at a reasonable price. The reason I need one is I had my house keys nicked from insdie my house some scumbag scaled the 6foot wall helped themselfs to my keys a 50p cig lighter and a cordless phone (useless without the base station) which was upstairs next to me when this happened. So since then I have not been able to get into my garage as this will involve me drilling the lock hence why i want the defender. PS the garage is not at my house and no unfortunately they did not come back. and I do know apig farmer and a butcher ;) Title: Re:Garage Defender Post by: Barry on May 19, 2005, 11:30:19 am Recommend a Garablock mk5, not cheap about £60, but an impressive lump of metal, with the lock towards the garage door, so differcult to drill out. It's Sold Secure standard. Fitted one when we had 2 mountain bikes nicked from the garage, tealeaves picked the lock or had duplicate keys. >:( >:(
Tip if you are fitting a cement in unit like this, which has a sleeve which goes in the ground, make sure there is drainage underneath, otherwise it fills with water. www.pjbsecurity.co.uk Title: Re:Garage Defender Post by: Chris (Liverpool Boys) on May 19, 2005, 11:36:31 am Thats the type of thing I am looking for just want to try and aviod paying too much for it.
Title: Re:Garage Defender Post by: Barry on May 19, 2005, 11:43:16 am Did a bit of research when I got mine, all around this sort of price I'm afraid. If you get a concrete in one it needs a lot of cement, dug a 12'' x 12" x 15" hole and it took around 4 or 5 x 25 kilo bags of ready mix cement and aggregate to fill it. Best to go to a place where you can buy the mix sale or return, and get extra.
