Title: Some Experience??
Post by: pretzel on April 26, 2005, 02:28:51 pm
I'm not one to post a link to our favourite auction but take a look at this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=16071&item=6527019099&rd=1
From the accompanying picture it would probably quite a rough ride, as the car appears to be travelling on the grass verge.

I also see there are no takers yet....

Do you get a refund should the car break down?!!  ;D

It's all very well I suppose, but I'm concerned as to whether this bloke's car is properly insured for Hire and Reward and carrying paying customers. Most classic car policies would specifically exclude this. In the event of any accident (whether third parties are involved or not) the insurance would probably legally be invalidated. And an accident is a distinct possibility on Mad friday.  >:(

If he's making 500 quid out of it, he may have insurance, but I think it would be impossible to arrange.  However, an interesting enterprise, that might pay for the trip and the tow home.

I'm getting soft - I prefer a lap in a Peugeot with aircon

The circuit was closed last year on the Friday between Mulsanne and Arnage corners.

Well I suppose I could offer a ride in my Classic 1966 Sports Car. The car is British Racing Green with A Classic look Matt Black bonnet enclosing a Classic Power Bulge over which the passenger will be peering in sheer terror. There will NOT be a fridge full of Cold beer on the back seat, what back seat?

Bookings will be taken in the Stella Bar at T R on Wednesday night. Definitely no DVD to be produced either!
The car appeared in Classic cars last year just after the race in the pages full of pictures bit! Just after it was on telly!

 ;D ;D ;D

Well, the East Anglian cobrateers will be making parade laps around the circuit (with optional smoky burnouts) during Friday too.

Due entirely to the Classic inherent weaknesses in BMC half shafts the Classic British Racing Green Sports car will NOT be doing Classic Burnouts during its Classic Mulsanne interludes...

Burnouts could seriously warm up your beer!

Following discussions with my insurers, I too am able to offer laps in a classic sixties sports saloon.
To comply with my insurance companies demands however, the passengers must travel naked and be prepared to point their arses in the general direction of the ACO office each time it's passed.
A video can be arranged.

What an excellent idea H!! I feel some precautions should be made to protect this site though so everyone in the car should be naked s that no CA t-shirts can be spotted!!
