But boy do you pay for it.  When I was ordering tickets this year I called them for a quote and they basically convert the euro prices to pounds, that's an impressive margin.  And they charge a booking fee on top of that.

And you miss out on all the exictement of will i/wont i get tickets, which site might i get (regardless of which one i want) ........all the flying by the seat of yer pants n stuff......... all part of the fun for me!!! i have got tickets everytime so far.........and never ended up on BSJ or bivouacing yet.   :)  (assuming ACO do as promised this year....)

and to add to the will i / wont i get tickets thing, there's always a will they / won't have a postal strike, a farmer's strike and blockade the ferry ports...that always provides some useful last minute chaos.

They have been striking at Dover / calais by Seafrance at the moment.

Got my tickets today - I know Just Tickets make a healthy margin, but it's fair in my mind as drastically reduces the chances of being "at home" to Mr & Mrs Cock Up...

(PS I'm so excited, I don't know what to do now..)

Just Tickets do a great job, I've done the will they won't they bit with ACO, even joining the ACO etc.  Its too risky.

Pay the cash and sleep at night !!  You can't put a value on certainty.

Much as I hate paying the extra for Just Tickets, I don't think I could handle the 'stress' of doing it through the ACO.
So until they come into the modern world and allow you to book on line I'll just have to stump up the extra cash.

Surely it can't be that hard...

My tickets arrive from the ACO this afternoon, by a nice man from UPS. I got an email last Friday informing me that they would arrive today.

Title: Re:Ticket arrival
Post by: Russ on May 04, 2005, 01:25:22 pm
Well my tickets arrived about two months ago, almost before last years race in fact... I've even popped over to HA and staked my plot. The tent is up and the beer mountain reached 3 meters already...  >:(

Now stop it you lot... just 'cos you've got your tickets already, doesn't make you better people!!!  ;)

Sorry... just that this thread only serves to increase the tention of those waiting on the ACO etc....

And it's driving me CRAZY!!!  ;D

Although I do have two camping tickets sourced this year. I'm hoping at least one will come good!!!

I'm getting a little excited...can you tell?  ;D ;D ;D

Got my tickets from JT last week :D

Dunno about anyone else, but I was quite happy about the price I paid.

Not too much trouble with ferries when I went to Spa, a bit behind, and the one home was an hour and a half late... but we weren't too bothered, we turned up 1 minute before the designated check in time, after getting lost in Brussels :D

Excellent -No tickets but a slip from postie saying I had a letter to sign for today, always makes me paranoid, I forgot its ticket time ;D ;D small pooing sensation has turned to little wee of excitement!!
Ticket agents are pricey but its nice to know that you are going to get what you want, its still worth every single penny to us. Cannot wait now :)

Hm - i think i am going to know more than i really want about fellow CA'ers bowel and bladder habits over the next few weeks - and thats even before the communal portacabin latrine experience starts in earnest....  :-\

P.S.   Did i mention that its only 4 wks n 1 day till i leave for the PQ etc.   - maybe i SHOULD be starting to worry but so far i am still insisting the ticket uncertainty is part of the LM charm.   :D

Got my tickets today via a UPS affilliated delivery company.

I ordered them from the ACO roughly at the start of April and they arrived today so about a 5 week turn around ain't all that bad. Certainly better than last year.

So no need to pay over the odds to get them from Just (Robbing Bastrads)Tickets !

Well I'm a B (naturally) and nothing yet!

Interesting as I'm also a "B" & got my HA tickets over a week ago & I didn't order them until I got home last year...

There was some numbers on the letter that looked like customer id numbers or something, don't know how I got allocated before you Steve, I've only been booking tickets for 2 years!! & I guess you're more of a regular??

Ahh the joys of ordering from the ACO...but don't ya just love it when a plan comes together ;D

Latest update Del Boy.

Phew - what a relief - it really is the tickets.  :D

Bleu Sud rather than just Bleu - but thats where we were last year and it was most satisfactory too.  Should be there in time to get the same pitch just behind the bank for viewing the nutters burning down the road n being stopped by the Gendarmerie.

Soooo, I have now sorted the European Breakdown and motor insurance Green Card, my overnight in Whitstable, got a fistful of Euros  - looks like its really happening now!

F

P.S.  Robbo - are the flags/polo going to be sent out or are they to be collected in person at MB?  (Prob should have put that question on a Robbo thread really  ::) )

Thanks Steve - I am now feeling terrifically smug!  Mind you, as I am going on my own this year if I dont sort it myself no-one else will!  (although having said that - I am ALWAYS designated team leader)

I got the European breakdown cover as an add-on to my Direct Line motor policy - £59 for 19 days - did same for upgrading insurance to fully comp European cover for £21 (basic third party is included anyway) - should be considerably less if only doing the race week tho!  I figured if i am over there for nearly 3 weeks might be best to be fully covered (damn.......did i do another of my double entendres??)  ;)

34 and a half days til the forward party of team Crapaud leave the shores of Crapaudland!!

Excellent weekend, Le Mans tickets arrived Saturday, and Sunday was spent at Silverstone.

Think I'll change things next year though, for the last few years I have always got my tickets through MRI. Tried Just Tickets once but they really made us sweat due to late delivery.

Never really checked out the mark up on MRI before, but Just Tickets look like good value in comparison, and judging by the messages posted here delivery no longer seems a problem.

Four weeks to go - can't wait  ;D

When you pay £50 for hospitality, you don't expect them to run out of beer just 1 hour into the race... and then only get some more 22 hours later.

Lets move on....  ;)

I've never really used the hospitality marquee, other than to listen to the briefing which can be entertaining depending on whos speaking, Perry, Derek Bell etc., oh and of course for the occasional sh*t. I tend to get my beers elsewhere on the circuit but I take your point, piss ups and breweries etc.  :-\

Ahoy, my ticket arrived today - I bought it from a bloke down at the fish market.
He said I'd got a bargain as they're going for much more on some interweb auction place (or is that plaice?)

Anyway, the ink was a bit smudged but the ticket looks real enough?
He said it's for "Carping Nord".  Is that near the main entrance?

I think its aisle 7 in Carrefour - you will be able to sniff it out and there is always plenty of ice to chill the beer ... dont worry tho - you will see all your CA buddies pretty regularly.

Sorry officer, but I must protest.  All my fish is legally caught off the coast of Thailand using only MAF approved napalm and high explosives.

A likely story. If you were operating out of Thailand your cat would have been on your menu by now!

I haven't seen the little bugger for a while.  Maybe he'll show up in time to help me fillet the fish to take to Le Mans.

Gilles, what sort of fish are in the River Sarthe as I'm worried that I may run out.

Correct, monsieur, C 26 to C36 (I think) - anyway a block of 11.  As we are in Row C, it will just have to be a dry, sunny day......won't it????

I hope so!!!!  We have 4 in the Pits grandstand as well, so if it is wet I'll decide where to watch the start from depending on which way the wind is blowing the rain!!  ;)

Look forward to seeing everyone in Lagache.
Hopefully the Aston pits will be opposite this stand, so we can cheer them on, and if the Corvettes are in the same area we can hiss them, and shout 'you're behind them'
(Sorry to many panto's, I'll take my valium)
The Prodrive Ferrari's were put opposite Lagache, certainly for the last 3 years.

Got my tickets yesterday- not the same as most people.

The TGV on Thursday 16th from CDG and back on Monday.

Still helps to build the excitement!

Very good service from SNCF as they were ordered on the 13th.
