Bad news is that its my sons birthday that weekend, so it looks like I'll miss Spa this year. Jem Title: Re:Next one... Spa 1000 KMs Post by: hgb on March 21, 2005, 10:27:20 pm Jem, do him (and yourself :) ) a favour and go. He'll love it at Spa and will be gratefull for his entire life. I still know when my father took me to my first motor sport event (1978 F1 GP at Zolder). You'll be super dad ;D. How old does he get ?
Title: Re:Next one... Spa 1000 KMs Post by: Paddy_NL on March 21, 2005, 10:30:12 pm Too bad Jem, but I know a little of what you mean.
My son is born the 4th of March, so I'm always struggeling to keep my eyes open on the F1-season's opener in Melbourne because of the kid's parties :( I got an idea, bring him along, he'll get in for free! ;D Title: Re:Next one... Spa 1000 KMs Post by: Paddy_NL on March 21, 2005, 10:32:36 pm Didn't mean to nick your idea, hgb! ::)
And if the wife protests, bring her along aswell. Free entrance for her too :) Title: Re:Next one... Spa 1000 KMs Post by: hgb on March 21, 2005, 10:39:06 pm Same line of thought here, Paddy. ;D
Title: Re:Next one... Spa 1000 KMs Post by: Paddy_NL on March 22, 2005, 08:08:20 am I still know when my father took me to my first motor sport event (1978 F1 GP at Zolder). Same here, but then Zandvoort 1979. I was a little earlier with my son, Magny Cours 2002. He was two years old then, and even remembers today! :o Title: Re:Next one... Title: Re:Next one... Spa 1000 KMs Post by: Paddy_NL on March 23, 2005, 12:16:19 am Nice one, should get you to the circuit within half an hour.
Try 'n park next to the petrol station few yards before the last roundabout before the entrance. You'll do enough miles on the circuit anyway :) Title: Re:Next one... Spa 1000 KMs Post by: RichUK on March 23, 2005, 09:42:03 am Brilliant, thanks for that.
Title: Re:Next one... Spa 1000 KMs Post by: Snoring Rhino on March 23, 2005, 09:07:45 pm The SPS Crowd will be there. What are your travel plans Robbo? Now a bar - Eau Rouge !! Title: Re:Next one... Spa 1000 KMs Post by: Paddy_NL on March 23, 2005, 11:30:57 pm The SPS Crowd will be there. The couple at the Eau Rouge seem friendly enough last September. But the drinking will be for the Saturday for me only, I can probably find some idiot who will want to drive us to the YMCA in Malmedy. Have to drive home myself on Sunday, so have to seriously reduce then, damn! >:(Now a bar - Eau Rouge !! Title: Re:Next one... Spa 1000 KMs Post by: RichUK on March 23, 2005, 11:43:05 pm Yeah, we have to drive back on Sunday night, and I got the driving job :(

Spa 1000 KMs Post by: Robbo SPS on March 24, 2005, 09:28:55 am We are going over Saturday morning Dover Calais and getting to a place in Malmedy, where some of the other MG lot are staying.
I have to be back at work on the Monday, so after the race, i will be driving home. I think i maybe staying in the same place as Paddy Title: Re:Next one... Spa 1000 KMs Post by: smokie on March 28, 2005, 11:47:37 am There's a small chance I could fix a business trip to Frankfurt for the Monday/Tuesday.
1) Would it be feasible to stay over 25km away from the track (availability/price considerations) - is travelling bad? 2) Would I miss much is I only turned up on Sunday? Title: Re:Next one... Spa 1000 KMs Post by: RichUK on March 28, 2005, 01:32:49 pm We're staying about 20kms from the track, in Liege. We're pretty sure that traffic won't be too bad.
The race is on Sunday, so you'd miss the qualifying and some of the other suppot races, but you'd still get to see and hear the main event. |
