Title: Sebring Post by: garystout on March 20, 2005, 07:16:39 pm So the Astons won the class, (BRAVO) the Massers where allowed to race despite the protests. Be interested to see the response from the ACO on this issue as it seems to upset them that this seems to break their ALMS rules. I dont think the issue will finish here!!!
Title: Re:Sebring Post by: hgb on March 20, 2005, 10:04:47 pm I can live with them being banned from GT and being allowed to GTP. Still, looking back at the race they don't seem to be as strong as they pretend.
Title: Re:Sebring Post by: jeep1 on March 21, 2005, 03:18:51 am well after seeing the massaratti in action first hand at Sebring I thought they ran well. aside from having an off at turn 7 at sunset they kept themselves pretty clean
Title: Re:Sebring Post by: jpchenet on March 21, 2005, 11:29:34 am Don't forget they were running with a fair bit of ballast. It would be interesting to see how they would have faired without it.
Still would have lost to the Aston!!! ;D Title: Re:Sebring Post by: Brian(Liverpool boys) on March 21, 2005, 11:47:50 am Welcome back you old fart, hope u enjoyed your trip and kept Andy in check. So now for the photos.

Title: Re:Sebring Post by: jpchenet on March 21, 2005, 12:42:15 pm I asked Dave Richards wife to take my camera into their enclosure in the paddock to photograph the trophey and she said it would be easier to go in with her and take it myself!
Title: Re:Sebring Post by: jpchenet on March 21, 2005, 12:43:05 pm I had to wait after taking it though because they wheeled this in!!

Title: Re:Sebring Post by: Bob U on March 21, 2005, 01:51:53 pm Great pics, you lucky bastards. Must get in the wife's good books so I can be there next year
Title: Re:Sebring Post by: jpchenet on March 21, 2005, 02:34:40 pm Jp, great shots, you would get in anywhere, The thing is Brian the whole thing is so much more accessible. Everyone has access to the paddock (a bit like PQ's last year) and the fences at a lot of the viewing areas were only 4 feet high. Title: Re:Sebring Post by: Andy on March 21, 2005, 02:35:57 pm Welcome back Scoop, i concur great piccies you lucky sod. I'll have a beer or three for the Aston win...... where were the VETTES!

Title: Re:Sebring Post by: Andy Zarse on March 21, 2005, 05:01:18 pm We met thsi chap who seemed rather happy!! Indeed he was! Within moments of the car crossing the line he turned and waved up at us in our position right over the Aston pits. A further five seconds later, the whole CA team were down the stairs and in with the celebrating Aston team. Richards had a big unlit Cuban cigar, the end of which he had been worrisomely chomping on for some time as the laps counted down. He came bowling over to me and Steve Brown, proffered a hand to us and asked us if we'd come all the way just to watch. I said I'd really only come down to offer him a light for the cigar or was he intending just to look at the damn thing. He slung an arm around our shoulders and called his wife over, saying "For God's sake get a photo of me and these guys!". I'd like to think he'll treasure that memory for years. ;) Anyway, the man is an absolute gentleman and born winner, surely he's is better off out of the snakepit that is F1. Title: Re:Sebring Post by: hgb on March 21, 2005, 05:29:31 pm Thank you, please just feel free to rub it in. This stuff makes me even more jealous... argh. ;D Nice one, Andy.
