How big are they? Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Barry on March 07, 2005, 06:00:35 pm What's the logo on them? A simple Club Arnage?
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: DelBoy on March 07, 2005, 06:14:22 pm One for me please
DB Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Barry on March 07, 2005, 06:27:57 pm I will have one, may I suggest the simple club Arnage logo as at the top left of this page? With the circles would give it about the right proportions, but without the chequered background. White on blue?
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Chris24 on March 07, 2005, 06:44:19 pm Count me in as well
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Mr Toad on March 07, 2005, 07:23:05 pm Robbo - will they print the design both sides or will one side be (reversed) back to front? I had this problem with the BM flag last year - 2 sided jobs v.expensive, so expect it's printed one side but kind of see through material if that makes sense?
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Bobblehat on March 07, 2005, 07:29:13 pm Ill have one please.

Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Ron Jeremy on March 07, 2005, 10:17:37 pm i'd love one but the wife went bastard ape sh*t over three tee shirts this afternoon
so i'll pass thanks >:( :( Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Pidgeon on March 07, 2005, 10:42:22 pm Flags are great cept ....... most flags, unless they look the same from both sides, like flags of most countries, can only be read from one side. If you make them double sided, then they may be too heavy to wave.
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Bob U on March 08, 2005, 09:58:17 am I'll have one
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: jpchenet on March 08, 2005, 10:06:18 am Are they single sided or double sided Robbo??
I'll have one either way.......just curious! ;D Do you know if they would do one offs, or possibly a couple. Obviously would be more expensive per unit, but we're still trying to get a couple of Team JPC ones at a reasonable price. Can you PM me their contact details please. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Robbo SPS on March 08, 2005, 12:56:06 pm They are single sised and the image will look like like this attached.
11 orders so far, 19 to go. Jp try : http://www.zigzagflags.co.uk Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: jpchenet on March 08, 2005, 01:40:37 pm Cheers Robbo!!

jpchenet, didn't you get my return, or are you still seaching for the right file? By the way, I'm going to MB on Good Friday (March 25th) to have a proper look. Wouldnt mind a dark blue polo (L) if u put another order in at some stage too - was too late for your first call for orders. :( Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Mr. Invincible Mou on March 09, 2005, 12:10:25 pm You can put me down for 2 please.
And Fran, surely a golf would be better than a polo! Failing that save up for a nice secondhand ferrari ;D Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Dan Lowe on March 09, 2005, 02:00:31 pm Oh good I see Rick's got one on order.... carry on ;D
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Fran on March 09, 2005, 08:52:26 pm "save up" Mr Insivible??? Can you explain how that works?
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Paddy_NL on March 09, 2005, 09:23:08 pm Okay Robbo, let's speed things up a little, I'll have two for up the scaffolding. That brings your total half way the aim.
What if you will only need 20, how will the costs work out, 15 or 20 each? Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Robbo SPS on March 10, 2005, 08:26:11 pm We are up to 17, only a few more then we are done.
I will ask about the lower numbers. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: jpchenet on March 10, 2005, 11:50:56 pm Okay Robbo, let's speed things up a little, I'll have two for up the scaffolding. That brings your total half way the aim. What if you will only need 20, how will the costs work out, 15 or 20 each? I guess if 30 cost £275, then if we only have 20 buyers we still get the 30 and pay £275, which works out at £13.75 each and we have 10 spares that can be sold at a later date. Funds from these could either be split between the original purchasers, or be put towards a few bottles of 'poo on Saturday night! Or maybe several cases of beer for a get together one night?? I tried to contact them and ask for prices on small numbers for our group but they haven't replied yet!!! :'( Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Brian(Liverpool boys) on March 11, 2005, 02:37:19 am The Liverpool Boys, will take one it will look good in this years laser strobe light extraveganza
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: jpchenet on March 11, 2005, 09:30:48 am Any chance we can get them before Sebring?? ;) ::)

Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Paddy_NL on March 11, 2005, 02:51:57 pm don't worry about P&P, I can transfer via PayPal and maybe jpchenet can bring my flags to Spa / LeMans :)
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Mr. Invincible Mou on March 11, 2005, 08:59:53 pm "save up" Mr Insivible??? Can you explain how that works? Oops. Sorry Fran, I wasn't thinking. It means that you would have to curtail some of your evening and weekend social life for a few months. And to fore-go all those wonderful designer numbers you have in your wardrobe. Alternately, you could marry one of the single members from this site, and then divorce them after a few months. However, I believe that in order to really benefit from this method, that the marriage would need to be consummated. :o Hope that helps explain the concept. ;D Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Robbo SPS on March 11, 2005, 10:07:07 pm 30 flags are the lowest amount they will generate a print run from !!
No chance for Sebring. If anyone else wants one, put youre name on the thread. I am off to Hong Kong for a while and will update when i return. Hopefully we will have nearly 30 orders by then !! Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Paddy_NL on March 17, 2005, 09:51:34 pm don't forget this thread guys!

I have just returned from a brief holiday in the sunshine and find myself absolutely horrified by all of the suggestions for saving that you have put forward. I have just returned from a brief holiday in the sunshine and find myself absolutely horrified by all of the suggestions for saving that you have put forward. Fran Well what do you expect? You started it with a silly question. Everybody knows it is impossible to explain the merits/benefits of saving to a woman. :-* Mr. I Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Mr. Invincible Mou on March 23, 2005, 07:57:13 pm As everybody seems euphoric and all keen for the LM trip to start, I thought I would bump this back to the top.

Fran Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Paddy_NL on March 30, 2005, 09:59:24 pm Hmm, the flag pole...
So we have this scaffolding planned, about 4,5 metres high. On each corner there is gonna be an aluminium pole of about 4 metres high. On one of those poles I will attach a 9 metre fishing rod. So if this works out good I'll have a flag pole of 18 metres, is that gonna be a winner? ;D Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Robbo SPS on March 30, 2005, 10:36:03 pm Money recieved from Me ;) Smokie Gilles Brian Will put smilies on the first page for who has paid. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Paddy_NL on March 31, 2005, 12:11:27 am Surely you must be going for a flag pole on each corner though Paddy?? Exactly! With lights to match. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Paddy_NL on March 31, 2005, 12:50:47 pm You didn't by any chance measure the distance for me from the trees on the right to the edge of the path/road did you? I'd say the whith would be an absolute maximum of 15 metres. Ain't never gonna be 25 metres. But the 75 metres in length could be closer. Here's the same spot from a different angle>> (http://server3.uploadit.org/files/PaddyLM-MBlanche.jpg) Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Mr. Invincible Mou on March 31, 2005, 01:38:11 pm If my memory serves me right, there will be a fence (temporary) to the right of that picture during the race, which is where "camping maison blanche" actually starts.
The left hand side of the above picture, is where all the hospitality tents are erected. From there down to the MB grandstand. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Paddy_NL on March 31, 2005, 02:41:15 pm Mr Invisible, so you're basicly telling me and jpchenet bad news?
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: jpchenet on March 31, 2005, 02:44:34 pm Don't panic. The temporary fence is set up right next to the road entrance which is next to the toilet block. This is the flat roofed cream coloured building in the first of the two shots. :)
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Mr. Invincible Mou on March 31, 2005, 03:47:56 pm Aha, but if we look back at the arial picture posted by Big H (talking of whom, he has been a bit quiet recently. Do hope he is OK) earlier this year, I think you will see the full perspectave. You can even make out that "doughnut" you were asking about in another thread.
(http://www.club-arnage.com/yabbse/attachments/Mb-air2f.jpg) As you can see, that flat topped building is actually further away from the entrance than you realise, and is not the shower block :( Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: jpchenet on March 31, 2005, 03:57:01 pm I think you're right Mr I!!!! I had assumed Paddy had taken the first picture inside the MB camping area and that the trees and bank were those at the right hand side of BigH's picture.
Paddy, please confirm that the second picture you showed was in fact taken from just inside the road entrance and that the toilets/showers were on your immediate left. If so, this is where Motorhomes park up and I don't know if they'll let you put your van and construction there. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Robbo SPS on April 01, 2005, 07:00:51 pm 19 Paid for including Canada Phil who has paid in Euro's !! ;)

Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Robbo SPS on April 14, 2005, 08:43:11 pm Rick - No i havent seen any of your money.
John Mr 7 Our site has had a few issues in the last week, so it could be related. Cheque from you at late notice is still good. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Robbo SPS on April 14, 2005, 08:46:58 pm After re-reading JP's post....
I have made a decision. If the money hasnt been recieved by Monday ( when my cheque will have been cashed for the order ) I shall re-sell the flags. I havent the time or effort for the next month to chase people for money when they want the goods. I know Ferrari Spider is good for the money so ... Get the dosh over, or he gets the flag. If you dont like this. TOUGH. I dont make any money from this, nor does CA. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Lancs Se7en on April 15, 2005, 12:32:26 pm Cheeers Robbo. Promise not to let you down, cheque went first class from North Shields last night. Working away at the moment so things are a little disjointed :-[
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Bob U on April 15, 2005, 01:39:02 pm If you dont like this. TOUGH. I dont make any money from this, nor does CA. Well said Robbo.I suggest that with any future orders for merchandise, monies to be paid at the time of ordering. The cheques could be paid into your account until the supplyer needed payment, any interest accrued would help to reiburse you for your time and effort. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Robbo SPS on April 15, 2005, 05:16:35 pm Cheeers Robbo. Promise not to let you down, cheque went first class from North Shields last night. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Robbo SPS on May 03, 2005, 12:25:25 pm Just had a final confiramtion about the flags.
They will have grommet holes so its easy to attach to a pole And the artwork sent to me indicated the final product will look like this. Hope you like them. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Andy Zarse on May 03, 2005, 12:26:52 pm What is all this talk of flags? Have I missed something? ???
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Paddy_NL on May 03, 2005, 12:29:26 pm Looks good, Robbo!! (http://smile.smilies.nl/353.gif)
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Bob U on May 03, 2005, 12:59:44 pm They will have grommet holes so its easy to attach to a pole . Cheap eyelets unused anyone? The flags do look good, well done Robbo. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Smoothhead on May 03, 2005, 02:36:08 pm Lovely jubbly....they look cool......Well done that man ;D
Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: jpchenet on May 03, 2005, 03:11:54 pm Are the eyelets on both sides of the flag Robbo??????
Shouldn't they just be on one side otherwise the weight of the eyelets on the non secured side will surely make it droop/drop and not fly in a gentle breeze. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Snoring Rhino on May 03, 2005, 03:39:36 pm Are the eyelets on both sides of the flag Robbo?????? Well done Robbo, looking good.Shouldn't they just be on one side otherwise the weight of the eyelets on the non secured side will surely make it droop/drop and not fly in a gentle breeze. The avantage of having eylets both sides will be that they can be turned to face forward irrespective of the wind direction - and or you could put stiffening stick across the top to help it out in a gental breeze. Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Fran on May 03, 2005, 03:44:25 pm Ah - the good ole stiffening stick - it has helped out many a chap over the years no doubt. Def one for the LM packing essentials list.

(http://www.meiji.co.jp/corp/news/2003/images/pringles.jpg) from a dictionary:- NOUN: A small ring or grommet of rope or metal fastened to the edge of a sail. ETYMOLOGY: Low German kringel, diminutive of kring, ring, from Middle Low German. could have fun with this one. who's dropped the soap? Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Snoring Rhino on May 03, 2005, 05:39:58 pm Oh dear, this talk of Low German Kringel's and dropped soap in relation to the stiffening sticks is a bit worrying andnot a side of LM that I have experinced before!

Will now have to decide which little corner of the Se7en to pack it and its stiffening stick into or maybe even two stiffening sticks with the flag hung between them, rather like the dogs thingys. Getting exited now so having to go to the bog more frequently. :o Title: Re:CA Flags Post by: Fran on May 03, 2005, 08:03:08 pm Um - thanks for sharing that Lancs. :-\
F Title: Re: CA Flags Post by: Bob U on September 13, 2005, 07:10:42 pm Before this years trip to Le Mans I purchased one of the above mentioned C A flags. This flag withstood the heat of La Sarthe with flying colours (sic) and I was very satisfied with it. The flag was next used at Silverstone were it still looked as good as new after a weekend of being battered by wind and rain.
All in all I was very happy with my flag and was willing to reccomend them to everyone. Until recently that is. Last weekend I was invited to stay at a fellow CAer's house after a good night out at a beer festival. In the early hours of sunday morning I awakened from my sleep in a very comfortable chair by the chill of the night air. Close to hand was a trusty old CA flag which I used to cover myself as one would with a blanket. I found the flag to be totally inadequate for the job, in fact it made no difference whatsoever and caused me to loose faith it what until then had been an old friend. Therefore could I politely suggest that the next production run of these flags is made with a zip in fleece liner. This would ensure that no CAer need ever suffer from hypothermia on the far flung race tracks of the world Title: Re: CA Flags Post by: Steve Pyro on September 13, 2005, 07:46:24 pm You shouldn't have used it as a bandana Bob ::) Title: Re: CA Flags Post by: Paddy_NL on September 19, 2005, 07:48:18 pm Yes, it hung on Nürburgring too! (very unclear picture, but you can ask Smokie ;D)
