Being as so many of us are actually going to get to MB this year, perhaps the first there could try and mark out an area for us to all head for i.e. a central area for a bit of footy and a perifery area for us to pitch around. How practical this will be to maintian beyond Thursday is questioanalble but early arrivals could be quite wide. Worth a try?

-
Let's see who's on MB and getting there early...in fact if you are on Maison Blanche post here...

I get there Sunday evening (camp commandants permitting)

But I'm afraid I don't do Central or footy. I'll be near the bogs, as usual  :)
-
Due to arrive about midnight Wednesday night, all things being equal.

-
our group (inc rick cutler) are travelling down on the sun before(12th), so i imagine we can sort something out, and i imagine rick will have more to add later......

-
Two car loads arriving approx 11.00am Wednesday.  Third car coming 24 hours later.

 DB

-
WANCs will be on site wednesday lunchtime.
 PM
-
Yes as Rob said we are arriving on Sunday just after lunch ;D ;D.

We are planning on being within reach of the electrics so that may determine where we pitch. If all the electric is non accessible or we just want a footy pitch then we can try to mark off a HUGE pitch. Maybe when the others arrive they can help secure this large area.

The Liverpool Boys did this for us last year and succeeded until wednesday evening when space was starting to get limited.

Get this thread going nearer the time (I know it is all over in less than 5 months!!) and I will try to arrange something.
-
Drinking for Holland will be there from sundaynight-onwards. Loads of work to do, like building scaffolding etc.
Don't know the exact ETA, as it depends on what kind of truck we can lend from my neigbor. If it's +7,5 tonnes we'll only be allowed to enter France after 10PM Sunday :(
-
Unless of course you are carrying perishable items like acouple of boxes of cabbages etc!!!!

 So I belive!!!
-
The Liverpool crew will be on site by noon on the Sunday, with Uncle Albert in tow.

-
The usual suspects from Beermountain will be on site - not sure of arrival time yet.

My view is that we all seem to like being in particular spots, so a central area for CA may not work to best effect.

What I think a really good idea is that we fly a flag or something like that so we can encourage fellow CAers to pop in for a beer etc - ie we know who is where.

PS For those in the "Golden Triangle" - should we build some speed bumps/road blocks to keep the kids on quad bikes occupied this year?
-
The SPS Crew are arriving Thursday morning and will happliy pitch up within 100 metres of a hose pipe.

Other than that, not too fussy. We will need a large space, with 5 tents, 6 cars etc etc, and added onto that all the other large CA groups, we would upset lots of other MB regulars..

I am sure we shall all meet for a beer or two during the weekend.
-
The FECKers (might just have a new name come race week!) will be arriving a tad tardy this year; right slap bang in the middle of Thurs qually  :o

Lot to do with my new job (a proper one at last!) and restricted time off.

We will be attempting our usual "install" next to the Fathers and if we get our shite together, the "Fist Inn" will finally make it to MB complete with pub sign. No serving wenches I'm afraid - u will have to supply your own (imagination!).

 ;D
-
Speaking to brad he says" Tell him to get the TVR before arranging other things"

-
usual "install" next to the Fathers

Hi Rick, good to hear the Fathers will be making it again, but tell them it won't be the same without Andy  ;D ;D

 So I belive!!!

Nah, that's a rule from several years ago. Somewhere '96 they changed the law on that, now you need a permit for every vehicle above 7,5 tonnes to drive on Sunday in France...  :-\
-
Speaking to brad he says" Tell him to get the TVR before arranging other things"

Hum - TVR is starting to look a longer term thing, :'( might end up being a bigger rag top - A4 or 900 - 9-3. 8) in the short term.
-
Does anyone here know if MB is open during PQ (4-5 June)? ???

-
Normally PQ uses P16 for parking and camping, but this year the ACO site shows this as "cancelled" so maybe they are planning on doing something differently as the two dates are so close together.

Perhaps this year you can arrive at Maison Blanche two weeks before the race??
-
Hmm, I would like to go for the weekend, to go back home Sundaynight for a week. You recon it's worth giving the ACO a ring about this?

I would like to go there to look at the situation and figure out where to stand before we take off by truck on 12th of June...
-
what am I looking at here by the way? >>

(yes, I know, it's MB. but what exactly?)
-
Here's my guess. The Golden triangle is the two toilet blocks towards the bottom where MB used to finish. Behind those blocks is where you will find myself, Powerite, gab, Canada Phil and other reporbates.

I've ringed what I would guess to be the area generally occupied by the Porsche Curve Pirates, Popmobile and others. Last year Mr Toad would have been just off shot, about half way down the left hand side, withe the Liverpool Boys, JP Chenet, Ferrari Spider (where he?), Big H, RS2babe and lots of others even further off the left hand side of the shot.

Robbo's crew were off shot, sort of south west of the picture, behind the trees. I think Andy Z was in that general area too.

But then again...I could be wrong  ??? ???
-
				another...

-
				and another...

Wow, thanks a lot for those pics BigH! (http://smile.smilies.nl/473.gif)

So was DelBoy's crew - not far from Robbo.

Hmm, I'm getting more and more convinced we'll all meet up there :)
Working on the lastest details for our team shirt tonight ;D

-
				Nice shirt paddy.

My ones have just been done. They look really good i think.

BigH, were those pictures from 2002 by any chance?

I swear that is my lot camping in the MB overflow area as marked.

-
Agree must be 2002 - if it were 2003 I would be able to see our motorhome, and in 2004 "The Brady Bunch" were in front of us in the same spot (apologies to the Brady Buch as I don't know their real team name!) next to the Pope...unless it was taken very early in the week? I guess we will slot in behind all this again!

-
				2002!!
And the winner gets to supply me with a small beer, or a large bucket of zinc and castor oil cream. Truly marvellous stuff.
We'll have to keep Uncle Albert off that trampoline next year, he put far too much tension in it.
 H
-
Your beer will be suitably chilled and ready for you to collect during the race Big H!

-
Well as I called it first, I assume I will have the honour of supplying the large bucket of zinc and castor oil cream. Do I also get the privilege of rubbing it in?  :P

-
				Vanishing cream for you, Mr.I

-

Either that or you have a VERY small dog!!   ;D

I will be arriving on Monday morning. Are we up for a Tuesday night whisky club again H as I beleive its my round and I don't wish Sav shaking an empty bottle at us again mouthing a load of expletives. I will be entrenched beside The Liverpool Boys as I was last year.

-
looks like we're gonna bring the flag to Spa aswell, we'll hang it at Eau Rouge 8)

-
I hope you a very small person Paddy  ;D otherwise nobody will get to see the track once you have that flag up!!!  ;)

Out of curiosity, how much did it cost to have a flag like that produced??
-
jpchenet>> I have my own lettering company, so I am my own sponsor ;)

 the real figures>>
 huge buildingworks cover, 26 Eu
16 metres red vinyl, 80 Eu
28 metres white vinyl, 140 Eu
3 metres blue vinyl, 15 Eu

totals 261 Eu, took me 8 hours by myself

if you'd buy this at a shop it would be about 750 Euros :-\

by the way, I stand 5 foot 10 (?) 185 cm, normal average Dutch height :)
-
				Paddy_NL, stupendous!

I hope that doesn't get away and land on HA! Or on second thoughts, if it did it would save us all taking tents.

 Brilliant

Nah, it's never supposed to be a flag, but more like you described it. It's gonna hang between the scaffolding, the Gazebos and the truck which brings all the stuff. So it's gonna be horizontal, more for cameras from heli-coppers to catch a glimps of. Heineken has been notified by email today, counting on some flags and gadgets at least...

What's the hell is that car running on the track?

LMSUV is the new category helping Hyunday and Jeep to run and wim LM ??
-
				Paddy, that's one cool banner!!!

Stupid question time!  We'll be errecting Chateau Piglet on MB on Monday morning.  What are the chances of being able to get the car out during the week?  I've camped on Houx previously so getting the car in and isn't a problem as the roadways are defined, are we likely to get blocked in on MB?  I don't want to park the car too far away as I tend to use it for secure storage.  ??? ???

-
Shouldn't have a problem at all, roads are all well defined and grass areas seem not to be to deep that you end up with no route back to the road..

-
Piglet, look at page two of this topic, BigH has planted some pretty cool pics on that page!

-
Abs, thanks for that - need to make sure we can get out to get more supplies!

Paddy, I'd seen the pictures, unfortunately my sense of direction, ability to map read and navigate (or rather the lack of it) is legendary and I couldn't work out what was where  ??? ???
