Title: Who's knocked my Mrs up?
Post by: Dave H on December 27, 2004, 09:43:24 pm
Oops.  July 20th due date makes me feel that I may have to withdraw my entry for 05 (should have done that in the dark hours, I know).

Standing in Houx on Friday night this year the Mrs called from the US and told me our house was going to flood from a severe storm.  Given that there was nowt I could do, I opened another Nigerian Lager and said it'll work itself out - and it did.  Somehow, I can't see myself shrugging off "someone's pulled the chain and I've ruined me shoes!" from 3000 miles away.

A mate of mine was calling back every hour to his Mrs in the UK a number of years ago for a status update on his heavily dilated wife.  Too risky I fear.

I wonder if all the pikeys at the track are really blokes who've gone when they shouldn't have and now can't go back home?

Anyone else gone within a month of their Mrs due date?

Thanks Smokie!

My son is about to turn 1 year in a couple of weeks so life will be interesting in the 2nd half of 05.  Guess we'll have to down a few at Sebring to celebrate, eh?

Not quite my first was born 6 weeks before LM, but the closest I got was when I was working in Saudi the Mrs was back in the UK and I flew back in on the Friday with the second being born on the Monday.

Trust me it wouldn't have been worth the hassle to have missed that!!

You inconsiderate arsehole, David. Presumably this means I can no longer plunder your frequent flier account for 1st class transportation to and from the race in 2005.
Could also mean having to consider the option of teaming up with Critchetti's RV crew - because I am too old and decrepit to even think about tenting it at Le Mans.
Hopefully, falling on your sword for Le Mans earns you double points for Rolex/Sebring/RA?
Congratulations, nonetheless to you and 'er indoors.

Hey Dave,
Congrats on the latest addition to the Harper mob.  Got the pic of junior, you weren't shitting! he does look like a mini you.  Guess it'll be a few years yet before he's making day trips to Mid-Ohio.

Well done Dave.  I'd have thought you would have known to be celibate 9 months before June / July.

Ho hum, only one Harper for LM this year then.
See you at Sebring.

Steve

Dave

Mini SPS was born 26th July 2004, and his dad was present for the entire weekend.

Mum had to be banned from going to Le Mans, it would have been too much, but she wanted to go.

I believe the phone bill back to the UK was a little large for 5 days away, but no real worries.

We  had a back up plan, which envolved my credit card ( if required ) a fast ferry timetable from Caen and a phone call to P&O, also....

But all was fine.Thomas was due for birth a week before he arrived, around the 18th i think.

Is that an ok comparison ?

I reckon this childbirth lark has been severely over-rated by the women, another of their ruses to get us feeling guilty and ready to run about after them. I mean how often does it happen? It's not exactly every day, or week, or even month for that matter. Sometimes it's over in a matter of minutes and let's not forget the drugs. All that screaming, it's just not necessary in my opinion.
Us men on the other hand, don't really take advantage of the erection fate that befalls us all. Some of those hard-ons can be real forehead crinklers and they a happen on a much more frequent basis. When I was sixteen I had a screaming boner for a month that threatened to snap in two any minute. Now that's what I call labour. Back then, twenty a day wouldn't be unusual, especially while spending an afternoon down at the lido. I reckon we should get a lot more sympathy from the women over this, and some sort of support group as well, similar to the Childbirth Trust, a Stiffy Support Society maybe.
H
PS oh, congratulations Dave, a fine erection, well done.

Interesting theory Big H.  Can I ask if this theory comes with a health warning?  I plan to go home and quote you to the Mrs, but if death is to be instant, I'd sort of like to plan for it  ;D ;D ;D

Yes, thanks H - I was particularly pleased with that particular boner.  Glad it didn't go to waste.

I work in the erectile dysfunction field for a pharmaceutical company and I suspect that all this procreating is my way of reassuring myself that I'm not in the rope pushing club (or as my bro Matt coined it - "playing snooker with a piece of spaghetti").  You would not believe the sh*t I hear from our research respondents about their floppies.  One of the more memorable from some recent work was from a gay guy who informed me he regularly attended the local sauna for what he described as "mutual wanking sessions".

Now, most meetings I attend are full on MWSs.  Perhaps some of your colleagues or clients are involved in the same activities.

FOMWS!! So that's what personal organisers are for.
Reminds me of a sauna I inadvertently slipped into in Hastings one afternoon a few years ago. To my consternation, once the steam cleared I couldn't help noticing that it wasn't just the walls that had a 'marbled' effect. Yes, indeed, I think we've all been there.
Haven't we?
It was shortly after that when I learnt from my GP that I once had the most infected scrotum in Surrey, the legacy of a botched diy vasectomy and lashings of 'out of date' Germolene. I'm not sure there's a latin term for it, but it was a tad sore. I've since heard it referred to down the surgery as the BigH Bad Bollocks Syndrome. And who here can say they've never got a firm one when in the consulting room? A, ahem, mate of mine, gets a right eye-waterer on every time he goes to see his GP, it's almost become a disorder. Many years ago he collected a fast-ball in his groin when playing cricket, and I have to say the swelling was very impressive, I'd never seen anything like it. He was advised not to fly for a while. As a result, he was always worried that whenever he visited the GP, she'd ask to have a look at it, just to check. This meant he had to concentrate on not getting an erection, which meant, as we all know, he got a corker every time, and from then on, it proved a hard habit to break. Statistically, it had to happen, and during one visit to discuss vaccinations and a sore throat she did in fact ask him to drop his drawers so she could 'check things out', he jumped up and ran, as best he could, out of the consulting room, shouting over his shoulder something about leaving his car keys in the car. I know it's in bad taste, but I think there should be a sprint event along those lines at the disabled olympics...
Having learnt that you and Matt are two of eight, I hope that your old man, if he's still around, is employed as a consultant with your firm, that's quite a strike rate. Didn't you have TV, or a fast bowler in your village?
H

It's difficult to imagine H, the circumstances that would lead one to stumble inadvertantly into a sauna in Hastings, even if it was some years ago. I regret they've been touting the photo's about too.

This years LM plans have also gone pear shaped for me (due 2nd June) and one of the other crew members.

Best mate sarted laughing hystericalywhen told as i had taken the p1ss for a years when he sucumbed to his wifes demands for an MPV. With number 3 on the way I fear it may be inevitable.  Still my wife has ok'd the purchase order for a 944T ;D

Right back at ya Col Pilot!
I thought I had the nack for Winter babies down, but obviously not.

My biggest error was giving her the limo tour of Napa with her sister when I stayed at the hotel with the nipper.  All that vino obviously made her overly fertile.  So much for months of shagging for number 2!

I think I'll schedule a track-day over the Le Mans weekend here in Indy so I can occupy myself with handfuls of opposite lock instead of what I'm missing in La France!

Good luck with your Porker purchase!
