Title: Goodwood vs British GP?
Post by: Nordic on December 14, 2004, 03:18:13 pm
Goodwood  will be announcing a move to 24th to 26th June 05 on Thursday to avoid a clash of dates with the GP, I would have prefered the clash, If the F1 transporters etc were not there, there would be more room for proper cars.

So if you intend to go and need a hotel, nows the time to book before the prices go up!

WELL IF THEY HAD LEFT THINGS AS IT WAS, THERE WOULD BE NO CHOICE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GOODWOOD FOR ME ANYWAY. THE CHANGE IN DATE HOWEVER WILL MEAN I DON'T MISS A WIGAN RUGBY LEAGUE HOME GAME FROM MY SEASON TICKET, SO QUIET HAPPY AT THAT. HOWEVER IT DOES CLASH WITH A CHALLENGE CUP QUARTER FINAL WHICH WE COULD BE IN, BUT NEVER MIND.

Basically, I mean that the old date clashed with a home game that I have already paid for on the season ticket but would have to miss to go to Goodwood. The new date only clashes with a cup game provided my team are still in the competition, that i would have to pay for seperately, so if I miss that to go to Goodwood, it hasn't cost me anything !

I hate spending money and getting nothing for it.

Sorry Chris. Didn't realise Wigan was in Yorkshire  ;)

I think Wigan has "Enclave" status from Yorkshire. (East Riding)

They sensibly hung onto the pier even though the sea moved 30 miles away three million years ago. Well you never know when it'll come in handy do you? :P

Sorry Chris, but I do agree with the sentiments expressed so eloquently. How could F1 be as important as Goodwood?

I wish they weren't moving it so close to coming home from La Sarthe time though,,I had intended trying to get to it next year, something I would love to be at.

I used to go to Wigan Casino many years ago and the car I had at the time made Wigan seem like the other side of the world never mind Yorkshire

Better it's close to coming back than on the same weekend as it was when it first started. It took me about 5 years to persaude Charles March to change the date so it didn't clash with Le Mans.

And the year he changed it the numbers going increased a lot and there was the increase in classic cars going. Strange that!
