What connection are you supposed to be on now??
Mine's still 512 ADSL.
-
NTL cable connection. It started at 600 and they upped it to 750 about 3 months ago. The only downside is it is only a paltry 128 upstream :(
The rumour is that in the first quarter of 2005 they are going to up all their speeds again, but only on the downstream. This means I should get 2 meg down 8) Great if you like the Adult sites :-*

1526.9 Kbps (187.1 K bytes per second). Went down to 1203.4 Kbps when I tried the 1mb test >:(
I have the 1.5 mb NTL connection...which is going to 3 mb in the New Year ;D ;D ;D
-
mines 813.6 on wanadoo 1mb line, but 956.5 for the 1mb test
-
1718.2 - smoking Smokie.
Same connection here dude.
Rusty :D

Got me confused...
first time from our site, into the link I had 499.3 (kbits/sec) Then from their home page when I retested I got 65806.5 Kbps.... huh?
Every retest comes in about 63,000-66,000. Have I broken it? Wil Bham city council come round looking to beat me up for damaging it, or is my old compooter on BTbroadband actually quite reasonable?
:( :( :(
Bill ? ???

Perdu - that's because it's a very simple test, which downloads a file (500k or 1mb) to your system, and times how long that takes. Your browser is smart enough to know the second time that you have already downloaded the same file, and has kept it on your computer, (in your cache), so doesn't bother downloading it again.
To re-run the test you need to delete temporay files (somewher eunder Tools/Options). You probably won't want to delete your cookies though. (This will free up some disk space too)
-
You can also "force" a refresh direct from the site by holding down the "ctrl" key and either clicking on the refresh option for your browser, or by also pressing the "f5" key.
-
...however that didn't seem to do the trick on this test...
UPDATE...Yes, that works in Internet Explorer but not in Firefox, my default browser...
-
956.6 kbps ????
Guess thats good.
No flipping idea.
-
If you havent got broadband this is cheaper and gets good reviews.
