After some advice.......
We're going to do a quick blast (long weekend) and take in the Nurburgring.
Who's been and done it ?
What are the recommendations/pit falls/must do's/don't bother etc etc.
Routes, hotels, ferries, driving times.....all advice would be appreciated.

in german needs translating - internet transaltion software is sh*t
once tendered for a survey in spain, clients pissed their sides at tender proposal as the translation wasn't correct - using the software
according to bentley test driver - tunnel then belgium towards spa/ardens easy to find
wife has been to the ring says its great countryside people just fine good food/beer etc
on way back germany to belgium - you can enter belgium without knowing it still at autobahn speeds - only been told it so don't know it for gospel - and get done for speeding. Rumour - you should keep you foot down and clear belgium for france I've no idea if it can be done.
fill up in belgium supposed to be cheaper than france

Nordschleife:
The Nordschleife is only open this sunday (24th) from 8:00 until 18:00 local time. There're usually a lot of bikers on there at the weekends. It's 14 Euros per lap.
Directions:
If you're coming from Belgium you will pass Aachen, then on the A4 in the direction to Cologne. Turn onto the A61 at Kerpen (that's where spoonface comes from) in direction south and then onto the A1 direction south. At the end of the A1 you get on B roads for another 25 KMs, just follow the "Nürburgring" signs. That's quicker than the route via the Ardennes through Belgium.
There are Hotels in Adenau. Follow the main street through Adenau to get to the entrance to the Nordschleife which is at the Tiergarten, funny name. Check the tourist info at the entrance to the F1 circuit.
Other recommendation:
Check the Museum and do some driving through the eifel (that's the region where the Nuerburgring is), it's beautifull during this time of year.
Pitfalls:
None.
Must do's:
Driving the Nordschleife and explore the Eifel.
Don't bother's:
None.

Nobby,
The WANCs did it in september and is was probably the best motoring experience of my life.
The circuit is like no other "road" you'll ever go on and certainly needs more skill than i have to test your car to the limit.
There is a fantastic hotel about 15 mins away,owned by a lady from Chester and her German husband.
We had only one night there unfortunately,and had a mega evening meal and great brekkie with all homemade jams and stuff and the total cost for the lot incl rooms was £40 each!!
I see on the Dailysportscar site that the ELMS race on the GP nurburgring circuit is Sept05,so I think the WANCs will be planning again for that weekend.
Although its a 'king long way to drive for a weekend,its worth every gallon of fuel and every shitty Belgium road to get there.
There is also a great museum at the Nurburg GP circuit which is worth an hour or two in.
