Title: Ferries
Post by: jpchenet on September 13, 2004, 03:30:36 pm
In light of the date change, I've just done a quick check.

Can't book Brittany ferries yet as they still haven't confirmed their Portsmouth Caen crossings yet but if you book the P&O fastcraft going out on Tues 14th June 2005, returning Monday 20th, it is almost £100 cheaper than the equivalent days a week earlier (i.e. original dates)

Book quickly!!!!!

JP, are you suggesting that the bastards were profiteering because that's when they thought LM week was?

Absolutely not as we don't discuss profiteering on this forum!!  ;)

It does seem to be rather a coincidence though doesn't it!  ::)

JP, i spoke to rich at P&O, and if you try and book the ferry, it will give you an unknown fault at the very end of the process ( i tried 3 times)  as the sailing times havent yet been decided/ agreed.

But ......

My quote to Le Havre, was £50 more than last year !

P&O are having a huge review of the entire company, and the results arent out until 28th September.

Then i would have thought the prices will be available on or around the middle of October.

The bid things in the review are about which routes they are binning, and how many ships they will keep.

Which is why the sailings cant be booked.

P&O Dover Calais is coming up £6 cheaper than I paid last year.

I got the unknown error on the Pompy crossing as well.  Can't get a quote on Newhaven Dieppe as they won't quote a timetable for next year yet.
