Title: Who's Related to Who ?
Post by: Robbo SPS on August 06, 2004, 02:20:50 pm
After the TVR / Vette story, i was just wondering which car firms are related to others, and who else uses each others bits.

Subaru are part of Kawasaki Heavy Industries if i remember correctly.

Skoda are owned my VW Group

A quick correction Robbo - Subaru are a part of Fuji Heavy Industries. At least that's what it says on the build plate under the bonnet of my car anyway.

Oops - I've now identified myself to all and sundry as a Subaru owner. For the benefit of Ron Jeremy it is not a WRX, I am not girlfriendless, and my right arm has not recently been rendered numb for the purposes of self gratification.

FORD
GM

VAG

Shame really, as they now own too many nice car firms.

Oh well.

On the Pontiac thingy.

I always wanted a Pontiac Firebird, in black was i was little, i still have the model.

Or, a Dodge Charger

It just occurred to me whilst reading this thread that the big 3 or 4 multinationals own or have a stake in just about everybody they've considered worthwhile, yet none of thm has ever wanted to buy Morgan.

Makes you think eh ;)

Post Script

Dodge Trucks were owned by Chrysler who also once owned the Roots Group. All Commers were later badged as Dodge. Chrysler sold the Dodge Trucks name to Renault, who therefore now own the rights to Commer.
