Title: MODEL WANTED
Post by: Bob U on June 17, 2004, 04:16:58 pm
I have tried all the usual model shops here , at Le Mans and on ebay so you guys are my last hope. I am looking for a 1:43 scale model of the Pilot sponsored F40 as raced in 1995. I believe it was issued by Minichamps but I may be wrong on this. Mint condition and boxed would only be considered. Can any of you Le Mansters out there help me on this one ?

And I thought you meant you were selling a version of the female type. ;D

I am sure we are all after one ;D

You can get some 1:43 F40 LM '95 kits from www.mafma.com
If they don't have the model you want at the moment ask them about it. They are really helpful.

If I find it I'll let you know.

(and I thought I was the only model nut around here)

BTW does anyone know where I could get a super detailed Porsche 956 kit (1:24) by Scale Motorsport?

Best bet assuming that SMS no longer have stock is on the website that shall not be mentioned - the US not the UK site - there's normally at least one or two on there.   To do the kit justice, you need to make the front panel removeable and open the door apertures (easiest way is to buy a second standard kit for the bodyshell).   Oh and patience and motivation for a long build

Can highly recommend Grand Prix Models, in St Albans, Hertfordshire, have been using them for a very long time.  In there showroom they have a model car cabinet with all the LM winners.

http://www.grandprixmodels.co.uk/

If you don't fancy building a highly detailed R8 in 1:43 scale they have a in house build service.

Have a look through their internet magazine very informative.
