Post by: Andy Zarse on May 26, 2004, 05:38:39 pm Don't have a cd plater in our vehicle, and only have an old gas powered ICE system. Dire Straits Then Jerhico Iron Maiden Cutting Crew Pink Floyd Crappy Compilation Albums Guns n Roses Level 42 Anaall Thrax Little Rick Astley Saxon and also some comedy, Python, Kevin Bloody Wilson, Cheech and Chong, Chubby Brown, Sellers etc Title: Re:Music On The Move! Post by: starbar on May 26, 2004, 10:53:20 pm Don't have a cd plater in our vehicle, and only have an old gas powered ICE system. So, provided the pilot light doesn't keep going out, it's cassettes for us. And I haven't bought a new one since about 1988. So: Dire Straits Oh no Andy, you have done it now. I only have to hear the word dire straights and I start to convulse. My mate dougie in the mid 80's came all the way from Leicestershire to Le Man via portsmouth / Le Havre in a 3.0L Capri with me at 6'1" as the rear seat passenger wedged in behind Dougie the driver with my ear inserted into the rear offside speaker, he had an eight track stereo on with dire straits that just kept going and going ' money for nothing' I would have and could still kill for that track. What makes it worse I am retracing my steps this year with the same journey BUT not in the back of the capri. Something more refined me thinks like 'Marvin Gaye' and other soulful music. Post by: mgmark on May 26, 2004, 11:01:37 pm Rather like Steve, I shall be listening to engine music, although in my case that is on account of not actually having a sound system in the MGA, gas-powered or otherwise, beyond the kettle drum of the coupe roof. Unfortunately, though it won't be to the tune of 6.6litres of V8, but to 1622cc of half a V8 ;D

Well Rusty, it's...err...different. Where's the menace of previous years? Who mentioned Silky Boys?? :-X (Not that I ever received my 2002 one...or was it 2001?) ;) I will make a beeline for you one day...see ya there! Title: Re:Music On The Move! Post by: mgmark on May 27, 2004, 12:19:42 am Quote Mark, if you keep up with us from Dartford to Le Mans you'll get to hear a whole orchestra of V8s I'd love to, but you'd probably have to do the whole journey in second gear to enable me to do that! Plus which, you wouldn't want to be outdone by my 2 lads who are attending for the first time this year in their 1.4 Escort with a big exhaust can on the back now would you...... ::) Title: Re:Music On The Move! Post by: BigH on May 27, 2004, 01:40:14 pm Well, I'll be pushing these CD's into the dash:
Zero 7 Soulstance Ilya (Welsh, PM!) Thievery Corporation Koop Nitin Sawhney Cinematic Orchestra Fragile State DJ Shadow (Endtroducing, a good one for downshifting this) But it's all a bit superfluous really, there's such a racket at anything above 40 you can't hear yourself think, and sometimes the heatsoak cooks them. Maybe I'll try and learn Spanish. H Title: Re:Music On The Move! Post by: Lord Steve on May 27, 2004, 04:38:02 pm Big H
