Title: Campsite Post by: Simon P on May 24, 2004, 03:34:44 pm What is the Kartin Nord Campsite like? Le Mans 1st timers this year so any feedback either good or bad would be very much appreciated.
Cheers Simon Title: Re:Campsite Post by: Chrisgr31 on May 24, 2004, 03:41:50 pm Haven't been t that site for a few years, it would have been remarkably convienent for last years concert, viewing is possible from the campsite, its near the pits. Last time I was there there was a shortage of toilets and WCs but they have been improved on other sites so I expect they are better on Karting Nord too.

Karting Nord is fine The Facilities are as good/bad as any other site. It's quite central. Been on KN a few times. Bonus this year I'm not there ( see BBQ LOX topic :D ) Title: Re:Campsite Post by: Jay (Team Cannonball) on May 26, 2004, 04:05:47 pm Hi Simon,
I saw your response on a later posting. This really is a friendly forum and there are guys here who have a wealth of experience of Le Mans and the goings on there. They helped a lot when I started going back in 2002. If you try searching the forum for keywords I'm sure you will find your answers. Karting Nord is a campsite that is based on the exit to the Porsche curves as you head down towards the pits. Hence you can see the cars from your campsite. Makes finding out who is still in the race on the Sunday easy (i.e. if you are too hungover to work a radio.). The toilets and showers are the same as on any other site, usually a queue, normally not much hot water, reasonably clean (bless those ladies with the rubber gloves and mops - I don't think they provide the services that have been mooted on other postings though.) It is quite an international site with a good mix of danes/brits and others. The porsche UK owners club were on site last year. I suggest arriving no later than the thursday otherwise you will end up camping on a small area of turf. Anyway, the campsite don't matter, just enjoy the atmosphere, the beer, and the company. Look out for a Seat Toledo V5 (the student days are over and the rep mobile days have begun, or so says Stu), with a campsite of Scottish and English flags, and a Green mini moto if we can fit it in the boot with the rest of the kit. There will be a cold beer waiting for anyone who fancies one on Karting Nord. Cheers Jay Title: Re:Campsite Post by: Simon P on May 26, 2004, 04:16:36 pm Many thanks Jay, thanks for your advice. Looking forward to one of those cold beers and the same in return, looking forward to it.
