Title: Marking out your pitch Post by: smokie on May 18, 2004, 08:44:25 pm I do, to some degree, but it really REALLY pisses me off when I'm trying to go "cross country" and can't get through without clambering over peoples "fence" and suffering their glares.
btw I mean marking the perimeter with something solid, not going round spraying your territory like an animal...let's not go there eh? ;) Title: Re:Marking out your pitch Post by: Lawnmower Man on May 18, 2004, 09:31:10 pm I see nothing wrong with marking out the space you need for your group.
It's not to stop people crossing our pitch it's more to stop people pitching a tent in our car parking spaces or the space you want to save for the rest of your team. Walking though someones pitch is a bit ignorant if you wander though their Gazebo or though the centre of the area used for tents BBQ etc, but walking around the edge or though the "car park" should not be a problem. t. Title: Re:Marking out your pitch Post by: Werner on May 18, 2004, 09:39:20 pm Smokie, I see your point, but since most of the campgrounds are booked out and new people arrive almost around the clock it has become quite important to mark out your pitch unless you don't want to risk finding your barbeque-area filled with parked cars when returning from the track.
But I also found that some people really overdo it a little, like marking out the size of a football-field for just a handful of cars and tents. So lets just stay fair and keep the markings to a minimum. Title: Re:Marking out your pitch Post by: Robbo SPS on May 18, 2004, 11:27:30 pm Last year, the ACO parking lad, MEASURED out my pitch, which i then marked out with tape.
No football pitches, just enough space for 2 cars, tent, pool, etc etc. Title: Re:Marking out your pitch Post by: Mr Toad on May 19, 2004, 09:49:05 am Which campsite was this Robbo? Oh, and well done on the Swis Motors quiz - I'm checking with Swiss himself - you might have won a small prize!

Why's that then Stu???? ;D ;D ;D As it happens, when we were at Pre Quals I asked the Audi UK guys whatever happened to their video from last year (do you rmeember them filming us while we were playing footie?) In the post yesterday I received the DVD of their efforts last year (there's a great bit where Biela finally gives up trying to get the car back to the pits and you hear a loud "Scheiße") So sat and watched it this morning and "We're Stars!!!!" Well, we're on it for about three seconds anyway!! Had quite a good chat with their production team and they will probably come up to the 'poo bar on Saturday at 21:00 for a bit of filming and will definately visit us on Maison Blanche!! Title: Re:Marking out your pitch Post by: jpchenet on May 19, 2004, 03:23:11 pm This year we have our two "bouncers" with us, nicknamed Pitbull and Rottie.
Much amusement a couple of years back whenw e camped in Interieur Musee as people tried to cut through our encampment. Screams of "Get Off Our Land!!!" in German accents (sorry HGB) still echo around to this day. You've never seen so many people turn around and run back the way they came!! Title: Re:Marking out your pitch Post by: Mr Toad on May 23, 2004, 09:55:47 pm Forgot to add - how on earth do you keep the pickeys out on Mon am without a goood barrier/fence perimeter to defend...

Title: Re:Marking out your pitch Post by: Felix on May 26, 2004, 12:32:42 pm I normally like a good sized pitch for my fish and chip van, my Daewoo and some space for my tables and chairs and gazebos.
I'm looking for a nice central pitch in MB so I would appreiciate any early arrivers sorting me some space. I'm going to change the oil in the fryers before the race so the smell shouldn't be too bad and all the bits of batter will be sieved out. Anyone got any special requests as I'm off to Iceland later this afternoon? Title: Re:Marking out your pitch Post by: Brian(Liverpool boys) on May 26, 2004, 12:36:20 pm Felix, is that for fish or ice. ;D

I'm off to Iceland later this afternoon? Long way to Iceland on a trawler to get your fish, sure you'll be back in time for LM? Title: Re:Marking out your pitch Post by: Felix on May 26, 2004, 12:46:46 pm Apologies for your misunderstanding.
I meant the freezer shop on the high street. They are offering buy one get one free on crinkle chips at the moment. Title: Re:Marking out your pitch Post by: Chris (Liverpool Boys) on May 26, 2004, 07:15:38 pm stick with the straight chips felix ;)
