Title: Goodwood festival of speed Post by: redstu on April 27, 2004, 08:18:23 pm Anyone been to this?
Does it have camping etc, (beer, fireworks, burnouts )? Title: Re:Goodwood festival of speed Post by: pretzel on April 28, 2004, 09:43:32 am Redstu,
I have been a number of times and can thoroughly recommend it (although admission prices getting a bit steep now, especially for the Sunday). Don't think of it in terms of Lemons though as the events are as different as chalk and cheese with respect to spectator behaviour. For information camping is available but it is located well away from the event itself unlike LM. There are fireworks - but only for those attending the Goodwood ball (an event held on the Saturday night in Goodwood House). This is a slightly posher do than typically found on Maison Blanche..... Burnouts are restricted to competitors taking part in the hill climb. Take a look at www.goodwood.co.uk/fos for further info. I've been 5 out of the last 6 years.....the best show event for motorsport in the world, LM cars old and new will be there 917K, 512's etc... Event finishes at around 18:30 each day. Their website seems to be down at the mo' |
