Title: Re:1955 Le Mans race Post by: hgb on April 08, 2004, 08:12:46 am The car was the self build C-6R with an Offenhauser engine. It didn't finish, though. Why was 1955 the last year that Briggs Cunningham competed in Europe ? ;D

Why was 1955 the last year that Briggs Cunningham competed in Europe ? ;D 1955 was final year for Cunningham cars due to the US Internal Revenue Service only allowing 5 years before classifying such a business as a non-deductible hobby and, therefore, the factory closed its doors at the end of the year.
