Title: Hotel out of the question? Post by: garystout on February 08, 2004, 11:20:01 pm Having been to Le Mans for a few years, sleeping outside, in a tent , in a car , a caravan, suppose a hotel is out of the question near the circuit, booking at this later date. Any ideas? Many thanks, still wet from 2001 ???

Watch this space. Why anyone would want to hotel is beyond me though..... Title: Re:Hotel out of the question? Post by: shelby on February 09, 2004, 12:26:04 am tried taking the wife (who now refuses to camp, at 62 years of age but still loves the race, after 15 visits!) in a Porsche.

If you pardon the expression we have done it most ways... our favourite is combining hotel and staying at the circuit for the race. The hotel we use has a great atmoshpere, and is crammed with like minded race fans/car freaks. Much drinking etc. still goes on so no difference there, the main benefit (for me) is a modicum of comfort before the race and some decent food. The bogs and shower facilities are also significantly better :) Main drawback is of course travelling to and from the circuit for night qualifying and Friday pits walkabout but having been going for ages though you get to know the best routes in and out. If you are intending to use an Hotel though all the good venues are booked at least a year ahead in my experience. Title: Re:Hotel out of the question? For the race weekend all hotels inner cities are now booked, but you have some vacancies out of Le Mans, depending how far you wanna stay from the circuit. Being a little far can also add a touristic experience, especially if you want to please your wife. Title: Re:Hotel out of the question? formula 1 Motels ( cheap and cheerful ) can only be booked upto 100 days in advance. I presumme on that day there will be a huge rush ? try www.accor.com which is the parent site. Title: Re:Hotel out of the question? Post by: Chris24 on February 09, 2004, 06:45:05 pm Hi,
Just had a look at www.hotel-bb.com and they have two hotels in Le Mans. They are both booked up for the Le Mans 24 weekend. But there are rooms available at the Alencon hotel. Hope this helps. Nice hotels they are too and relatively cheap as well. We stay in them when we go to the Monte Carlo Rally Title: Re:Hotel out of the question?
