Shock Horror

Looks like they've finally given up - trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear  ;D but they'd managed it for 50 years.  But as the competition in GT racing is so fierce they've given up.  And at last they've got room for a diffuser

Hi Lorry,
I agree they did manage to get 50+ years out of the design concept for the 911 and just like Corvette have finally caved to the engine in the middle idea although they appear to have beaten them onto the track.
I for one think it is time to close the book of the awesomely successful "911" and call this one something else.

Phil

Hi Phil

I agree.  I thought they'd stretch the Boxster, but its been kept as the cheap Porsche (if there is such a thing)

From the photos, they've kept the shape, so it'll help sell yet more ordinary 911s and maintain the legend - next year will be the 50th anniversary of its first Le Mans, so there'll be some flags out at the Porsche Performance Centre  :(

The new one has a super dooper anti- collision avoidence thingy radar widget doobry as well. To help the drivers not hit the Porsche LMP1s. Porsche have a better name for it though. Nice diffuser.
