Title: Raiders of the Lost Skip (lots of big pics) Pt II

This lot is part of what is from a folder for a press conference on 10th July 1971.
The two most interesting bits are way too big and wont fit under my scanner lid, so I'll wait for my new digi-cam to arrive then I'll photograph them. There are also two documents "Ses Atouts et sa volourisation" and one other that outlines the differences in the new layout options (in length, etc) - the first is 5 pages long, and if anyone speaks good french (or is french) and want to have a nose, let me know and I'll post them - would be interesting to hear a translation, but sure I can work out the general idea ;)
I should get some sort of index page for all this up - the directory where this lot is stored is getting quite big now...

Wow! Some nice photos there. Not long ago there was some banter regarding what the pre-Porsche Curves return leg from Arnage to Maison Blanche back to the Ford Chicane looked like....well those photos are it! That first photo is a drivers eye view of Maison Blanche, not for the faint of heart in a Porsche 917 or Ferrari 512.

Great to see more from your windfall archive - keep them coming please. Looking at the map, I can see the circuit modification that brought in the Porsche Curves - Ford chicane section, but what is the other dotted line running the length of the Mulsanne and with a completely different end to the straight - was that a proposal that never made it into reality??

I think the idea was to 'replicate' the Mulsanne in order that racing could take place without interupting the traffic on the N138 - as Arnage & Indiapolis are on local roads the upheaval on race days could be tolerated, and more races held. Apart from said areas, the rest of the circuit would be owned by the ACO.
