Title: BHS Post by: Lord Steve on June 08, 2016, 07:53:31 pm Am I the only person that, until the last couple of weeks, hadn't heard of Dominic Chappell? He drove at Le Mans in '94, '95 and '97 in a Pantera, Lister Storm and 911 apparently and now the complete tosser is responsible for 11,000+ people losing their jobs.
Sue me! Title: Re: BHS Post by: Rhino on June 09, 2016, 12:15:12 am There is a story about him my brother told me years ago. He took over the running of some F3000 like cars and ran them in a series. He ended up taking them out to South Africa to race in an event. Problem was he hadn't paid the mechanics. The mechanics after practice removed all the ecu's from the engines and one of them got in a car and left the circuit. Dominic was told no payment no ecu and no race. Ecu's would only be returned on payment of wages in cash. Surprisingly after much nashing of teeth and telling them he had no money he paid them the cash.
A proper nasty piece of work. Wouldn't surprise me if he got a bag over the head and was worked over with a baseball bat. Title: Re: BHS Post by: jimclark on June 09, 2016, 02:37:37 am Sounds kinda like a sitiation over here...

It reminds me of Rover, and didn't they get away with it.

Unfortunately they do not hold the value of common decency. Aricus Title: Re: BHS Post by: Nordic on June 09, 2016, 05:58:05 pm He was also the guy behind the Interactive sports Car championship. They had big plans, but only had one race at Donington park in 2001 before it folded leaving behind a trial of broken promises and debt.
