I am just impressed I managed to get a decent shot and drive at the same time.... Is taking pictures illegal whilst driving too? ;D Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Steve Pyro on December 18, 2003, 12:39:28 pm Looks like a convertible, very low and wide too.
When I zoom in, it all gets a bit blurred! :( Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Ruptured Duck Motorsport on December 18, 2003, 12:49:35 pm Looks like a convertible, very low and wide too. When I zoom in, it all gets a bit blurred! :( Trouble is that its gets quite obvious if its a larger image.... Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Steve Pyro on December 18, 2003, 12:51:10 pm This one was taken by the driver of the car we were passing. He was on his own and just pointed his camera in "the general direction".
Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Steve Pyro on December 18, 2003, 12:53:22 pm Trouble is that its gets quite obvious if its a larger image.... BMW Z1 ? Clue ? Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Ruptured Duck Motorsport on December 18, 2003, 12:58:22 pm Its Italian, and not a convertable, and I only saw two at Le Mans....
Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: jpchenet on December 18, 2003, 01:53:39 pm Maserati??
Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: hgb on December 18, 2003, 02:02:34 pm It looks more like a Renault Spider. It's not Italian though.

Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Gilles on December 18, 2003, 05:17:52 pm Any Fiat? Any Lancia ?
Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Robbo SPS on December 18, 2003, 05:55:15 pm My money is on a GT40! There was a clue - ITS ITALIAN Doh !! :o Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Dave H on December 18, 2003, 06:17:12 pm I think Gilles is on the money - looks like a silver Enzo though it's confusing 'cos the area below where the plate would be should be painted too but it looks dark - could be shadow.
Enzo then? Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Ruptured Duck Motorsport on December 18, 2003, 06:55:33 pm Pagani Zonda........? BINGO!!! WE HAVE A WINNER!!!! You win a years subscription to Dreamracers.net ;) We drove up the Mulsanne in the Sud on the Friday and ended up following it back down the straight and round as far as Arnage. The bugger didnt lose me, despite my photographic evidence. Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Dave H on December 18, 2003, 07:13:05 pm Where, and what color was the other one you saw? I saw a red one (highly decaled) out in the town on Saturday morning. It was in a sea of dark French motors had I had my camera with me, it would have made a great shot - its roof coming-up to the front wings of all the other cars.
Nice camera work by the way! Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Matt Harper on December 18, 2003, 07:35:24 pm Anyone else got any images that depict a microscopic dot on the horizon, so that we can all make wild guesses about its identity, as a way of passing the long winter nights?
I feel that the riddle was finally solved by stoic process of elimination, as the clues in the photo were non-existent (or maybe I'm just going blind in my old age). If the correct answer had been "Iveco TEC 6x6" I wouldn't have argued to the contrary. Throw me a frickin' bone, here. Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Steve Pyro on December 18, 2003, 07:46:43 pm Quite, I've had to book an appointment at the opticians because I've strained my good eye.
Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: BigH on December 18, 2003, 07:54:25 pm I strained my japs eye once, but the optician wouldn't have anything to do with it.
Isn't a Pagani a sort of squashed toasted sandwich? I suppose it is Italian, but then again, unlikely to pass you on the peage. H Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: pretzel on December 18, 2003, 10:19:09 pm Pagani Zonda........? BINGO!!! WE HAVE A WINNER!!!! You win a years subscription to Dreamracers.net ;) Well thanks DR, I don't know what to do with it yet but I'll let you know. As with a lot of other things I can think of the Pagani has a very individual rear, not quite as engaging as some I will admit, but distinctive all the same. For the record I do wear glasses but they were of no help whatsoever. It was probably a few drinks that did the trick - having the reverse effect to normal, making the blurred image clearer. Off now to Dreamracers.net to view the spoils :) Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Ruptured Duck Motorsport on December 18, 2003, 11:22:48 pm JUst for the record - the other one I saw was on track ;)
Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Steve Pyro on December 19, 2003, 05:46:34 pm Here's one especially for Matt Harper.... Matt, NAME THAT CAR ;D [attachment deleted by admin] Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Matt Harper on December 19, 2003, 07:27:33 pm Oh, come on now Steve, that's a piece of piss. It's a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass F85 - as you can see by the two exhaust pipes and the badge on the boot lid, it's the 442 model with the 400ci Rocket motor - the chick in the passenger seat is worth a squirt an' all!
Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Steve Pyro on December 19, 2003, 07:33:53 pm Well done Matt, your eyesights better than you made out.
Here's a close up for those who were unable to work it out (sorry, no picture of the front seat totty). [attachment deleted by admin] Title: Re:Name That Car.... Post by: Steve Pyro on December 19, 2003, 07:41:20 pm Okay Matt, how about this one
