Title: DTM, in particular Nurburgring Post by: smokie on August 26, 2015, 11:48:02 am Is anyone planning to be at this? I have planned a break in Germany and this covers the middle weekend nicely.
is DTM well attended? I'm going to use the camping right next to the track and wondered how full it is likely to get. Will probably arrive late morning on Friday. What is good and bad about DTM? (Very short races I know!!) Title: Re: DTM, in particular Nurburgring Post by: nopanic - neil on August 27, 2015, 10:49:45 pm Is anyone planning to be at this? Don't forget your bonkers hat :) >Martini...LB How many days to LM24? Title: Re: DTM, in particular Nurburgring Post by: Kristof on August 27, 2015, 11:48:27 pm DTM at the Ring is crowded, book your tickets in advance.
Best seats in the House : T4a or T3. Races are short, but on short track layouts so you see the cars quite a lot. Most of the time a good fight on track, even more when Ullrich shouts to "take him out" ;D. Chris24 went to DTM last year, he might be able to give you some good advice. Yes Neil, I'll be there, but the only times I've been to the Ring were for 1000km races and it was almost empty!! So I was thinking it wouldn't be busy! Oh well!! Are you camping Neil, what day/time do you arrive? Thanks for the grandstand tips Kristof, noted!!! Title: Re: DTM, in particular Nurburgring Post by: Canada Phil on August 28, 2015, 05:33:37 am Smokie,
You can cheer for Robert Wickens ;D Phil Title: Re: DTM, in particular Nurburgring Post by: smokie on August 28, 2015, 12:23:19 pm I had to look him up Phil.
"Robert Wickens (26) is one of Canada’s top international race car drivers with a career decorated with race victories and championship titles won on both sides of the Atlantic" Maybe just a low whimper rather than a cheer then :-) Title: Re: DTM, in particular Nurburgring Post by: smokie on August 29, 2015, 09:23:02 am So it turned out Neil is there this weekend for WEC, not at end of Sept for DTM... :-\
Anyway I have booked my ticket for DTM and have a seat in T3, Row 1 seat 20 which is near the left hand end as far as I can tell. The camping is not bookable so I'm planning to turn up Friday by lunchtime and hope that I can find a spot not too far back from the walk-through. I could look at arriving on Thursday evening if you think the camping will be busy from early Friday, but as I am at Oktoberfest in Munich on Wednesday I'm likely to have too much beer inside me to be driving before about lunchtime... |
