Title: E-Tickets @ Le Mans Post by: Lawnmower Man on June 17, 2015, 09:45:51 am I chose to go with E-Tickets this year. Anything to save money. When they arrived they were in one huge PDF so I asked for them to be resent as individual tickets. No problems there.
I didn’t hear of any problems with the E-Tickets. As I mentioned before last year I scanned the ticket barcode using the smartphone app RedLaser and it worked fine in the Automagic turnstiles. So I did the same with my E-tikcet. Again it worked fine at the auto turnstile but it didn’t work with the Handheld Scanners. The people using the Scanners didn’t seem at all bothered that I was using a phone rather than paper. So I had to use the Paper one at those gates. t. Another note - although the stipulation was to print on A4 etc. etc. we just folded ours in such a way that the barcode was visible and put them into plastic pockets on lanyards. No problem with any of the scanning guys, so no idea why the detailed printing instructions were given. Pete B. I too folded the paper to fit in a plastic ticket holder. I think the reason behind the "strict" printing instuctions is that if you resize the image it may not scan. I was also told that you could not just keep the PDF on a smartphone or tablet. I think they have to make these rather unnecessary request is to limit the chance of problems. So whilst it turns out you only needed the plain white bit with the barcode, if you had a problem they could say "you have not followed the instructions so it's your fault.". t. |
