Title: Tequila frenzy Post by: lofty on March 04, 2015, 06:42:47 pm Lets hope the Tequila Patron gang will be handing out free shots. ARRIBA!
Cant remember the last time anyone was handing out free stuff. Title: Re: Tequila frenzy Post by: geoffd on March 06, 2015, 01:54:49 pm I remember the days when the Marlboro girls used to hand out ciggies at the GP!
Title: Re: Tequila frenzy Post by: garyfrogeye on March 06, 2015, 03:12:56 pm And the Durex sponsored F1 girls.....well, let's not go there ;D
Title: Re: Tequila frenzy Post by: lofty on March 06, 2015, 06:20:24 pm Fags and Rothmans chrome plated lighters. Anyone remember the Kuros 1000km at Silverstone? We got given aftershave samples! T he smell was overwellming i was nearly sick, god knows what other spectators thought. We invented our own slogan " Kuros. For the mans who does'nt give a sh*t". All in all a very smelly weekend.

I never did see any of their condoms for saleTitle: Re: Tequila frenzy Post by: aricus654 on March 06, 2015, 09:15:24 pm Sadly, the only freebie that I remember getting was a Yokohama Advan fan that I got given on a decidedly cold day at Donnington. That was less use than a condom. Aricus Title: Re: Tequila frenzy Post by: Barry on March 06, 2015, 11:15:28 pm Free Slammers would be good! ;D
Title: Re: Tequila frenzy Post by: Nordic on March 08, 2015, 01:25:31 pm I think the French have a ban on cars sponsored by alcoholic drinks companies competing (unless they are French!)
May have imagined it, but cannot think of one in the last 10 or so years. Title: Re: Tequila frenzy Post by: Lorry on March 08, 2015, 01:36:15 pm It seems they banned all alcohol (and tobacco) advertising in 1991. Some of the politicians thought their reputation for being alcoholics needed improving.

Title: Re: Tequila frenzy Post by: Grand_Fromage on March 08, 2015, 09:05:31 pm It is true that in France, booze sponsorship is forbidden, but Bruichladdich is also the name of a river and a village, plus the Frogs never caught-on to the fact that it was malt whisky. I remember asking the 'booze sponsorship' question at the time, and the response I got was "shhh!".

Title: Re: Tequila frenzy Post by: Nordic on March 10, 2015, 05:25:47 pm looks like the new Honda ARX-04b LMP2 has been returned to its makers, HPD. so the ESM team are now having to look for another car, most likely a Liger.
(Can they even change chassis now they have an entry) Whats the betting they will be the first team to pull out? Title: Re: Tequila frenzy Post by: lofty on March 10, 2015, 06:16:42 pm Good bet for the Viper to be in then? Viper beats Tequila.
Title: Re: Tequila frenzy Post by: lofty on March 10, 2015, 06:28:29 pm I didnt know booze n tabs were banned on cars in France, but i looked at other sponsers and found the 1995 Mclaren F1 was sponsered by a plastic surgery clinic who specialised in wait for it
making willies bigger!!!!! Tokyo Ueno Clinic Title: Re: Tequila frenzy Post by: lofty on April 17, 2015, 09:00:30 pm Tequlia Patron tent was great fun at Silverstone, prices as follows.
5 squid for a shot,8-9 for a yummy cocktail. Bloody Mary tequila drink was ace. Shame their car was disquailified from 3rd cause it woreout the scaffold plank! Hopefully they will be at LM next to the Guinness tent would be handy. I never did see any of their condoms for saleIIRC, it was the early 90's and RLM that year was sponsored by Jiffy condoms - the result being plenty of mentions of the said items, interwoven with headlines such as "come in a Jiffy..." and "have a stiffy, grab a Jiffy..." Brave stuff by Hindy and the RLM gang then - I also seem to remember that said ads attracted unwelcome attention from the French authorities, which brought RLM close to being banished forever - which would have been a bad thing for us - who knows what the RLM guys did to smooth "les plumes" afterwards...
