Does anyone (i.e. Nordic, Rickmeister, Werner etc) have any photos of the 1990 race, specifically of the C2 winning Spice 89c driven by Mike Youles?
Mike is an old pal from years ago and he has very few shots of the car, or indeed him on the podium next to Brundel, Price Cobb and John Neilsen. It was of course the pre-digital age. Clearly had I been driving and winning at LM I'd probably like a few photos of the event too!

I thought it was this one, but No 21 not 21st I'll have a look

Sorry, Nothing from me either, but I know a man who may, I will ask
On another note, I think My late Mum used to work with Mick Youles mum in Horley, place called SPD, or 'cool country yogurt'

This hasn't seen the light of day for 23 years ;D

Small world Andy. I know him too because of his Sprites. I may even be seeing him at an event on the 5th of January.
-
Hi Andy, Gary,
any chance of talking him into writing a small personal report about his 1990 race for the next CA Guide?
-
Hi guys, thanks ever so much for your efforts, I knew we'd turn up something.
Truck, Mike says thanks! Werner I'll see what I can come up with, shouldn't be a problem, you normally can't shut him up! Small world indeed Gary!

Happy to supply a picture :D
Tell Mike "well done" and to buy the video http://www.amazon.co.uk/Le-Mans-1990-Review-DVD/dp/B001CWLFAE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1387193814&sr=8-1&keywords=le+mans+1990 which shouldn't bite into his racing budget too much.
There's also the official video of 1990 at the French Institute National Audiovisuel, which I'm downloading now for €3.99 and its in English 8)
I can't see anything of the car on the dvd, because it concentrates on C1 (The first 19 finishers were C1 even after loads of retirements!) but theres a few seconds of the podium. This may be on youtube

Yes, those were the days! In 1990 35 out of 49 cars came frome the top prototype category C1 ! This year there were just 8 cars in LMP1 :(

Andy, have a chat with Keith K or David Stephens (Captain Black) (www.studio21.co.uk/home.htm)
-
Thanks Jason, Mike knows Keith already!
David's archive only goes back to 1991...

Cheers Andy, I wondered if he did, and a bugger about Dave. Only other thought could be Brooksie or even the goodly David Lord at DSC ?

That's a dead link Gary.
Could you try it again using the (http://www.clubarnage.com/forum/Themes/default-CAmod/images/bbc/img.gif) icon?

Will have a look over the next few days. Took many pics over 86 -92.
-
Cheers Mulc, hopefully there's a little gem in there somewhere!
PS Jason, Mike also knows John Brookes quite well. I know this because I discussed it with Brookes and his pal Brian Laban at Turn 10 Sebring in 2005! Steve Brown was also there but he had his best falling over trousers on at the time so may not remember so much. :)

Different one here, surprising how thin on the ground they seem to be!

Not sure what crime I committed in an earlier life to be classified with Mike...........must have been something bad. >:D
David Lord did not start shooting Le Mans till 2001, I was working Suttons in 1990 so they have the archive material, I'll see what I can do.
