Title: Spa 24 Advice Post by: Fisherman on December 09, 2013, 10:31:58 pm Looking at Spa next year to mark my 40th, any campsite recommendations? Was looking at http://en.eaurouge.nl/, but seems a bit far from the pits / eau rouge area of the track? I did find a hotel near the main entrance with a campsite but am slightly wary of their promise of a 'party atmosphere', I'm more into a quiet drink than eurotechno till dawn.
Anyone know what the race programme's like? Support races in the morning or just the 24? Title: Re: Spa 24 Advice Post by: landman on December 10, 2013, 01:58:18 pm Visited Spa for the 1st time myself this year.
Camped in the car park just off the Rue du Fi [off Rue de Circuit] for free amongst the trees. Plenty of others there, especially the DfH lads on this site. There were 1 or 2 tents playing loud music, but not in to the wee small hours and not always eurocrap either. Main advantage of this location is that you can walk to the bottom of Eau Rouge in less than 5 minutes and avoid having to drive and be guided around the one way system they put in place for the race. Support race was, IIRC, Porsche based and not that exciting. Landman Title: Re: Spa 24 Advice Post by: Barry on December 10, 2013, 04:37:22 pm Above info is for the WEC race.
Believe some of the DfH crew go to the 24, hopefully they will be along for info for that. Toilets are down the hill at the police station. No water, no electricity, no lights nothing. First come first serve and do not buy any camping or parking tickets in advance !!!!! Only payed once, there is most of the time no attendant there. Entrance fee / ticket is a bit cheaper in advance. And yes this is a campsite like LM 10 years ago. No rules, open fire, BBQ, gerny's running and beer. Arriving at least at Friday afternoon or it wil be filled / closed.
