Not sure yet, hope to get everything sorted by the end of next week. Title: Re: Goodwood Post by: clkgtrlm1 on July 11, 2013, 09:41:42 am Yes - Goodwood on Saturday.
Road trip (well not really epic) from Oxford to Goodwood. Alfetta GTV6 or Abarth 695 Esse-Esse **************** Change of Plan - if it's going to be Scorchio tomorrow, maybe take a sensible car. Barchetta probably or Sedici. Maybe even just the Clio.......................ERRR - Nahhhhh!!! Title: Re: Goodwood Post by: Nobby Diesel on July 12, 2013, 08:40:56 pm Went today with my son, 9 years old.
What a superb day. 95 miles each way, all cross country with no motorway miles. An 0530 start meant that the roads were clear and perfect for making good progress. What a wonderful collection of vehicles. The Group C's on show were good to see, the modern stuff too. Lots of lovely exotica for a 9 year old to take pictures of too. Shame about the Moto X rider who hit the ground hard; hope he's ok? The weather was perfect today, but the forecast for tomorrow is very warm, so prepare some cold drinks and suncream. It only felt truly busy, right at the mid point of the day, but still not like a Saturday or Sunday. if you can get to the top of the Ford stand, i would imagine you get a good and free view of the hill. Have fun to all those who are going. Title: Re: Goodwood Post by: Kristof on July 13, 2013, 04:56:34 am Back home ... 28 hours and 970 km after leaving yesterday night. Crazy as hell, but worth every minute of it.
Exhausted but what an event and what a day we had. Never been to Goodwood, this was a really last-minute call and we had some of the last tickets. Half an hour after I ordered everything was sold out. Seeing everything in one day is impossible. Thanks to all the tips Chris24 sent me on Thursday, I knew what to do and what to skip. Great collection of cars, old and new. Good to see the Group C's back in action and the Le Mans cars ... The ones I looked forward to the most were the Bentley Le Mans winners from 2003, Senna's MP 4/4 and the fully restored Williams BMW. Naming everything we saw is impossible, this made an even bigger impression to me than Amelia Island earlier this year. Found a few good spots to take pictures, wandered around the paddocks but didn't have the time unfortunately to see them all. I have to get back next year for the whole weekend, this place is amazing ! Makes me wonder why I haven't been there before ... If the weekend of the Revival in september doesn't clash with anything else, I even might be back this year. Title: Re: Goodwood Post by: Rhino on July 14, 2013, 01:56:02 am Lovely event as usual. Could do with 2 days to look round now! Made it for 7am and no crowded paddocks. Talked to an Aussie who with some mates were on an epic 16 day trip taking in the ring, BMW, Mercedes and Porche museums. Then to Italy and all the museums. The British and German gp's. plus lot's of museums over here and 2 days of Goodwood, he will be back one day for the revival. Hell of a road trip and i never mentioned the cricket

The straw bales give it a retro feel, almost spa'ish Title: Re: Goodwood Post by: Truck on July 16, 2013, 10:04:16 pm ........The straw bales give it a retro feel, almost spa'ish Having been next to Rod Millen stuffing the Toyota pickup into the straw, they're a darn sight better than the Le Mans armco.Title: Re: Goodwood Post by: Jules G on July 17, 2013, 09:31:36 am Lots of clips are now uploaded to youtube from the weekends action up the hill:
