Title: Wedding car Post by: Lord Steve on July 05, 2013, 08:57:28 pm Somewhat off topic I know but my son is getting married next August and I'm in charge of wedding cars. (It's the only job I volunteered for!)
His dearly intended is a bit traditional and is talking of Roll Royce / Bentley. I / we on the other hand fancy something a little different. For guidance think Mongoose Corvette / Bentley Speed 8 / Ford Thunderbird / Lola T70 Spider. You get my drift? Any suggestions gratefully received. Title: Re: Wedding car Post by: gatordad on July 08, 2013, 09:36:19 pm Go for the White on White Bentley convertible...great photo op and will be known by everyone for decades. That's why they call it "traditional" after all.
Title: Re: Wedding car Post by: Chris24 on July 09, 2013, 03:41:58 am Want to be different, how about hiring Ecto1 Ghostbusters car. Sure your son would love it however your future daughter in law may never speak to you again. ;D
Title: Re: Wedding car Post by: Jules G on July 09, 2013, 10:04:37 am Steve,
hop on over to pistonheads and post on the relevant car section of the forum. I recall somebody posting on the TVR general gassing and a whole fleet of TVR's turned up to ferry the bridesmaids and bride/groom etc to and from the church. Title: Re: Wedding car Post by: lofty on July 09, 2013, 04:14:52 pm if you go for the tvr option dont forget to have a back up car.

The wedding is near Colsterworth just off the A1 and the ceremony is being held in the venue so the transport is for the (a) groom & best man, (b) bride & father, (c) bridesmaids, a trip of about 5 miles from the brides parents house to the venue. Like the idea of the Ghostbusters car - it's in the Haynes motor museum! Title: Re: Wedding car Post by: Mr. Rick on July 10, 2013, 11:04:09 am The wedding is near Colsterworth just off the A1 That's just up the road from me! Wonder if I could borrow a Pilbeam...... [/quote] http://www.starcarhire.co.uk/app/VehicleDetail.aspx?VehicleID=223 or http://www.ghostbusterscarforhire.co.uk/ You could have the groomsmen turn up in it wearing Ghosterbusters outfits that rip off Staus Quo suit style with velcro down the sides with their proper suits on underneath. Would be really cool. But would need someone with a sound system outside the church to play the Ghosterbusters theme as they pulled up for full effect. Title: Re: Wedding car Post by: Jack the Hat on July 10, 2013, 08:27:23 pm Nothing says style like the last of the V8 interceptors, a slow hand clap from all the others old enough to appreciate it for the groom.
The Bride needs a convertible so your right go classic....... The Munsters wagon says it all for a wedding Bridesmaids Keep it real, keep it British Anything from the proffessionals or the Sweeny. This for me would have been the coolest list of cars to use for my wedding ( The wife says " she would not have married me ", if her car was the munsters wagon ) >:D Title: Re: Wedding car Post by: Lord Steve on July 10, 2013, 08:41:14 pm The wedding is near Colsterworth just off the A1 That's just up the road from me!
