Good news but tinged with more than a hint of sadness. There are only five Lola on the entry list this year, two being from Rebelion. When you look at the Oreca built cars, including the rebadged entries, you have to wonder how Hughes de Chaunac managed to do such a good job where Lola failed. With many of those cars powered by Nissan engines, is there a danger that Le Mans is becoming a spec series? Could this be the last time we see a Lola at Le Mans?

I like de Chaunac and ORECA and wish them all the best, but I do feel some of their recent success has come as a result of the demise of Lola. And that fills me with more than a little sadness.
