A great man and a sad loss. I remember very well the laughs he gave me as I was growing up. Given the era in which he was at his peak I'm suprised that I don't remember him being in any of the Carry On films. RIP Eric and thanks for so many memories.

A great man, I agree, pity we seem to loose a lot of good guys.

He wrote a lot of scripts for others, especially the Goons, brilliant.

good film, great seeing the other actors, the old cars and loads of places to park cars!

At 28.30. Sliding door version, very rare now, be worth thousands.

Wow - good eye sight.

I wonder what was the last van that came with sliding doors?

If you mean sliding front doors, then the Bedford CF I think, unless you know different? It outlived the Mk1 Transit which ceased production at the end of 1985.

DHL vans still use them but I suppose that doesn't count.

but what about the dreaded Sherpa (http://i981.photobucket.com/albums/ae292/HairyKabab/5458960443_396dfff31d_z.jpg)

wot was the last year they were produced

As a kid can remember our Bedford Dormobile (like this one) (http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3205/2728614251_5f687ef206_z.jpg?zz=1)
Driving with the door was great, except when you stopped suddenly, mind your hands, feet or head!

an early People Mover?
