As there has been an absence of CA shirts for the last 2 years, I knocked this up a little while ago but didn't have the opportunity to take it any further due to my own personal and Brethren commitments.
If the design looks interesting to you lot as a start point it can be easily adapted for next year plus adding a large central image of some description. If one of you would like to the mantle for the general organisation of lists/collecting funds etc, I will ask my printer to get some costs together. Many of you who have purchased our shirts in the past, you'll know the quality printing that we can get produced.
It won't be possible to do the multitude of variants as produced on previous CA shirts as origination cost would be prohibitive.
Let me know your thoughts.

Very much in favour, especially of the Gulf colours (being an old hag that blue is a welcome change from stark white for me!)
-
In Rusty I trust...... Go for it Russ! Love the fact that this is being thought about now, rather than 2 weeks before the race too :)
-
Team Tres Hombres Racing will have half a dozen no problem.
-
Bring a mock-up in XXL to Sebring please...or save me one for later. Thanks!
-
Excellent Rusty. I'll have a couple of them :)
-
That is brilliant Rusty.
-
love it!
-
Looking good, clean and simple design, like it!
-
Very nice - and I am with Termie in favour of non-white (but in my case I claim its more of a dirt issue than a hag thing!).
I appreciate you can't have all the variations, but a ladies shape t-shirt would be a welcome option.

Ladies shapes are not a problem Fran, it is just the print variations.

I love it. Great stuff Rusty.

I love it too and to be honest it could be time for a change of emphasis even for a slow thinker like me
I presume the next hurdle would be a "descriptor picture" like "Steve finger" "GT40" and Silk Cut Clockwerk"
Rusty, I vote we go for the change in direction, somehow I get the opinion if Rusty says so... :D
;)
Then we decide on the picture
-
I'd be happy with that without an image. I think it would look mint if it could keep the gulf colours.

Here, here

Count me in for a shirt or three please ;D
-
Looks good to me as is. I'll await ordering instructions. Lois was impressed with the Brethren T shirt that I brought back this year.
-
I think it looks cool as it is without an image.

I'm getting my guy to put some costs together at the moment for a standard and high quality shirt.
Maximum print area is 21" x 17" or 53cmX43cm which is very large, but I wouldn't recommend anything under a medium shirt as it compromises the print size for those of a more magnificent size. ( our order for 2011....XLarge 35...Large 30...Small 1.... if you get my drift ) and female fit are not a problem.
As far as the back print is concerned with or without image the print cost for the back will be the same or you could even opt for 1 shirt with image, 1 without, the extra origination costs would increase by a maximum of approx £134, spread over 60 shirts for example increases the overall cost per shirt by just over £2 for the extra run.
I will put a few ideas together for a back image when I have a bit of time, but if anyone wants to throw a few ideas in, please do so.

Hi Rusty,
this looks perfect to me as it is - IMHO no more pics necessary .I would probably even leave the year "2012" away.

Russ... Now my addled brain has recovered from last week I can report we have over pond interest for Sebring 2013. I responded thinking it was for this years magnificent Brethren shirt... But I now see... Ish. Shirts to Sebring via me will be fine.
Does anyone have my Brethren shirt? I think I lost it when Auntie Dennis was at the Guiness bar . PP

We have places for you guys to stay and we have beer to drink, though not as good as some of your Belgian beer I've had in France.

I haven't seen it Pig Pen, but that doesn't mean some one picked it up from there. Unfortunately I don't have any spares as everything went. You might be able to do a deal with Simon, Nigel or Joe who have large shirts.
-
Job done............. lets order them
-
Brilliant design, Rusty! Put me down for one please :)
-
As I shall also be attended in 2013, chalk me up for one please.. in fact prelim order me for 4 as we'll probably each want one in addition to the brethren ones!
Cheers!

I'm going to be the first, and it looks like I could well be, a lone dissenter.
I do like the simplicity of the design, and I do like the 'Gulf' colours. I also think Russell is a master at graphic design - having designed several personal logos here on CA (my own included), some of the designs of previous CA shirts have been down to him, and of course for several years there has been the rather superb Brethren shirts.
However, if you look at the top of the screen, you will see the Club Arnage colour scheme that has been in use since at least April 2003, and Russell's suggestion to, effectively, re-invent the wheel goes against the grain for me.
I have nothing against moving away from the 'traditional' white-based t-shirt, nor from changing the 'standard' design on the front - maybe something could be done with a blue base with another colour (light blue??) to pick out the CA logo, similar to the polo shirts produced by JPC a few years back.
Many of us have various items which carry the current colour scheme and logo, eg flags, window stickers etc - as does this web site - and I think to change the whole colour scheme is a step too far.
I would be interested in Mr G Fromage's view.

OK, I do agree the Gulf blue and orange is an iconic colour scheme. But..
I also think it has been terribly over-exposed in the last decade, and that rather dilutes its historic significance. Although I'm not against using it on the CA T-shirt, perhaps we could put a CA twist on it, and change the sky blue to CA blue. Several variations of Gulf blue have appeared on the track, from the deep blue of the 1994 Kremer K8 to the pale blue of the 917, so it has historic precedent.
I would be interested in Mr G Fromage's view.

couple of washes and it will fade into the gulf blue again ;)
-
I like Rusty's design.
Put me down for 2 please, Rusty.
Perhaps it's time for the CA logo to be reviewed?
-
Can we incorporate a small acknowledgement or tribute to Deb in the t shirt design?

Great idea Steve.
-
That is a nice idea
-
Perhaps something subtle? perhaps around the back of the neck, or maybe a circle on the shoulder, with Space Reserved for Termietermite in it....I like to think she'll be jumping around the shoulders of those with the best view come June :)
-

That's bizarre, I'd opened this thread with the thought of suggesting something like that too.
Sitting very firmly on the fence (and skirting around the exact colour of blue for the moment), what about keeping it simple and sticking with Rusty's proposal on the front (I like it. it's a little different), but having the CA logo on the back, perhaps with a word or so to Termie underneath? Just a thought.

An homage would be nice I think. A sihouette of a small motorised scooter and crossed crutches would do the trick. I think she'd be embassed by having her name or face on it...
-
Good idea Steve... A little cross on the shirt with her login name ? Honestly thinking...

Excellent idea - and I share Andy's point of view about her name on the shirt
