Post by: termietermite on June 01, 2012, 08:50:58 pm
Very quickly 'cos Mr T says the dinner's  ready.  Unedited and (mostly) without captions:

Thanks Termie. Looking forward to more over the weekend.

If you get the chance a photo or two right up the nose of the Pesca 03 would be super handy. Especially the central area between the wing/nose supports. There's some interesting aero going on there that I'd like to suss out.

Cheers
Si

Sorry, Si - didn't read your request until I'd got home.  A real bunfight today so I and the camera stayed out of the pitlane and against the viewing barrier, so I'd imagine most of my Pesca shots will be buffer beam but I'll look.  Just about to start downloading a few more whilst I have a well-earned cuppa.

Toyotas look good (although the paint job's a bit ordinary, imho).  Interesting to finally see the Delta Wing.  Lots of happy chatting with drivers - Mr Brundle is a real gent as per as is the lovely Pat Long.  Less rain on the forecast than previously thought so with luck there'll be some track action.  More cars about than there are entries so it looks as if the ACO is going all out to fill the grid if there are more drop-outs/accidents in the meanwhile.

Caught out by the dinner gong again!  I have uploaded a front-on Pesca pic so have a look again in half an hour or so when it should be done.

Just arrived at hotel. Missed scrutineering thanks to bloody traffic in Paris, cost me more than 2,5 hours to pass that stupid town.

Nice walk through the pits afterwards though, pictures online in a few hours ! Hot weather today, hope it gets like this during raceweek !

Big shunt this morning of the #40,
Also #15 Oak.  Moreau in Angers hospital.  Car repaired and back on track this pm.  A couple of other shunts which stopped practice (1 AF Corse Ferrari and I forget what else now) but didn't hurt any drivers.  Nothing damaged beyond repair afaik.
1&2 both had problems but were still fastest.  Toyotas pretty competitive.
The flying penis looked very tail happy when leaving the pit straight but it did run quite a bit.

Didn't know that about OAK.   Saw a few spinning off at the Esses, but no real harm done there.
Guess the last red flag was caused by one of the Audi's getting off at the Porsche curves.

Time to get some sleep, just got home after a 600 km drive ...

It was the 44 Starworks.

Moreau has a spinal injury.  All digits crossed.  We were suprised he didn't go to LM and this explains Angers.  A fellow inmate in rehab' had had a spinal op' there so they obviously specialise in some way.

Yep, emergency surgery to remove fragments of bone from round the spinal cord is never an encouraging thing. Time will tell, and fingers crossed for his recovery.

Indeed.

Probably a little lost in translation.

Where it says 'Guillaume Moreau has suffered a serious but partial injury to his spinal cord's twelfth vertebra' It probably means 'His spinal column's twelfth vertebra. It makes more sense that way, and I hope this is the case, as bones mend faster, and more successfully than nerves.

Thankfully that sounds encouraging, given the potentially severe alternative of not having feeling in his legs.......
